Even though a modern, humane non-animal method has been approved by the U.S. government for more than four years, the Colorado Serum Company (CSC) continues to use thousands of hamsters for leptospirosis vaccine potency tests.

They should test it on themselves. No reason to test animals. Animals aren't stupid enough to inject something deadly into their veins.

That is so cruel and disgusting. I cannot believe that they go to such extents for research.

Not only is this unspeakably cruel, but it seems inefficient and outdated since modern alternatives exist. Animal tests are still being done on everything from household chemicals to chocolate and other food products. People in these corporations often believe that these tests won't offend people because most of the subjects are "only" rodents.

To my mind all animal research should be stopped what the poor wee things go through is just too horrible to think of. If the researchers are so keen let them experiment on themselves.

Signed and noted. Wish companies would stop using animals for human testing. Their makeup is way too different from humans, and there is no need to put them through suffering just because...
