What a horrible, tragic and heartbreaking story. My heart bleeds for this poor, precious creature and her owner. I don't believe that 72 hours is even sufficient. What if your cat has wondered far away, and you can't locate him/her within that time? I understand carrying capacities and their restrictions but I cannot understand kill shelters. It is too terrible for words. I really wish that there were more people who took in abandoned or stray animals. Rescue animals need to be cared for and not senselessly exterminated like vermin. It breaks my heart.

Signed but this is making me so mad and sad.
I can picture this and feel the entire situation. DO NOT ever bring animals to the local humane Society that's all i can say............. IT is the worst mistake.
I have dealth with issues just like this at local humane society's in different states.

This poor cat OF COURSE would have been scared by then. Who knows the real story ....

It's better than you take the cat to a vet to see if it is microchipped whether it is or not. The humane society locally most likely will even trick you while you are waiting and all of a sudden some one comes out and says sorry that cat was not adoptable or what ever and it was put down.
Before you even know what is happening this is done too many times.

This poor cat and the man that loved her. I feel the neighbor or who ever did this (now i forgot I am so upset and need to read again) was naive and did not know what they were doing. IF a cat came up to you so friendly why bring it to the humane Society where they are not a no kill shelter.

Sign the petition!!!! Starte informaing people NOT to bring all animals to your LOCAL humane Society. I can't express this enough and the tons of stories I have heard and dealt with personally . Maybe the Humane Society does a huge project here and there and I agree they do but locally they are the worst!!

It's my opinion and I have many letters written to the directors of my local humane Society and other states never getting anywhere of course and these letters go back to 1986..... I was pretty young and disgusted. NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

This poor cat and the man who loved her. This is horrible .

Please sign the petition and send anywhere you can.

Like Alice commented ; 72 hours really is not long enough anyway. Animals do have ways of wandering. How terribly sad this is.

Almost every shelter is filled to capacity these days; when there's no room at the inn....
Unfortunately, sad stories like this one will continue to happen until people start
neutering their pets and adopting not buying.

Never take any found animal to shelter unless you know it is NO-KILL. This happens all the time.

Unbearable sickening pain for this man. Yes, Prima ~ horrible. A senseless death and suffering all because of profound ignorance and complete indifference to life. day after day after day....
