People who live near or on the beaches live with the threat the ocean may want to take over it's property now and then. With global warming---more beach-front is disappearing anyway. ...ask those in Florida who live on the ocean.
I remember this weather-channel's program....IT COULD HAPPEN TOMORROW....in which it featured NYC in one of their documentaries.
Some people inherited their property years ago and are just middle class, some people are well-to-do.
But a loss is a loss......and living without electric myself for days....relying on shelf-food or donations.....I know what that is like and I never lived on the beach.
