The Fluoride Myth

Health & Wellness  (tags: fluoride, fluoride myth, brushing teeth, dangerous compounds in toothpaste )

Unfortunately, when most kids do brush, they're using toothpaste made from a slew of dangerous compounds including artificial colorings and flavorings, aspartame, DEA, propylene glycol, saccharin, sodium lauryl sulfate, stannousfluoride and triclosan.

i wouldn't trust the ADA
and i would advise totake the linked-to wrintings with a few barrels of salt, too.

stannous fluoride, stannous fluoride, stannous fluoride ... according to wikipedia SnF2 is a bit more expensive, and NaF more commomly used. The two kinds of toothpaste i happen to have at hand (not chosen for any ""green"" acpects) both contain (whats called) (an) 'Aminfluoid' i.e. some (longer-chain)-tertiary-ammonium-salts (which also act like/as a detergent)

artificial sweetener - yes. Could become a real problem -- when someone would manage to eat a few packs (or kg?) of toothpaste per day ....

What seems to remian unmentioned (becaause every one is expected toknow?)
Fluoride occurs *naturally* near-ubiquituosly, in just about all foods and water-supplies (in some areas in concentration high enough for drinking water to be DE-fluoridated) ...
