Jill Robinson has been fighting for these bears for 2 decades. Recently, support from the Chinese people has begun to snowball - more and more members of the public joining in the fight to protect these majestic animals.

Continuing public pressure is likely the only course which will stop this barbaric practice. Such pressure is aided by publishing information on its horrors to educate people. Thanks for posting.

I remember watching a film on this sick needless practice, the camera crew went in to a home to find a bear in a small cage, laid flat with a tube running in to the bears stomach - the bear could not move, it was stuck in this one position with the family and its kids running about, the mother cooking on a hot stove just feet away - I have never seen a animal look so unhappy/ abused.
It is not all carried out on farms it is common in the villages for a family to have a bear caged with its bile slowly dripping in to a bowl - the horrors I see committed by the Chinese and others to animals is beyond any caring human comprehension.
I am very pleased ( at last ) some from these abusive countries are starting to stand up for the defenseless animals.

I would love to hear Jill Robinson. (alas, cannot attend.) She is one of my heroes, a saint among women. Bear bile farming is almost worse than dog or cat eating -- as in this case the unbelievable torture and suffering just go on and on and on and on......

If the Chinese people think for one moment that they can be progressive, modern and enlightened as they so tout themselves, they'd better know that they CANNOT do that and still cling to their idiotic, backward beliefs and practices concerning animals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jill robinson is someone to look up to as a r ole model. she has done so much for these suffering bears. I would give her a huge hug and thank her if I could. this is a disgusting practice and one has to wonder how they can do this and feel nothing watching them suffer. It is beyond me. I am grateful for her work and presence which is bringing about changes. I have heard the Chinese are becoming dissatisfied with this "farming" and speaking up. Maybe there is hope for China yet? The day may come when bears will suffer not more in this manner.

''SIGNED''....bear bile farms are horrible and they need to be banned. All of this SUFFERING should NOT be happening. These poor bears DO NOT deserve this. It is CRUEL, ABUSIVE AND INHUMANE. It's great to see that the people in China are standing up for the bears. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Thanks Thubten!

It really is like a scene from a horror film ,people just going about their business ,completely oblivious /don't give a damn ,whilst the bear suffers . Is there any hope for these monsters ,I wonder if they will ever wake up to what they are doing.
