When our Constitution was first drafted, it made no mention of the special place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first Australians. They were effectively excluded from our founding document of law.

More than 100 years on, our Constitution still doesn't recognise our first Australians. We need to fix this.

Recognition would help to safeguard something unique and precious about our country -- the fact that we are home to the oldest continuing cultures anywhere on the planet.

Help us unite Australia by recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the constitution.

Sign this pledge to say: Yes! I support Constitutional recognition for all Australians.

Many thanks Thubten - for taking up this cause. I am a member of YouMeUnity and GenerationOne and they really need all the help they can get. This is so important and needs to be put out there, to let our Politicians know that the World is watching. You have such a huge following - have fowarded onto mine- so let's get this happening. "It is the right thing to do" as Archie Roach said and nobody can deny that Kevin Rudd's 'Sorry Speach" was brilliant as for me I wasn't born in Australia and I'm covered under the Constitution. The Elders need this before they die - so they know that their grandchildren are seen as equals.
Naturally signed along with all others petitions on this matter.

One of the most important projects I have seen yet.
Thankyou so much for the opportunity to make my voice heard as it was NOT accepted when I first spoke out in 1968!
I loved Australia so much, except for this one thing.
Wonderful to hope it may be put right at last - and lead to a lasting respect for a wonderfully civilised people.
