I remember the Red Skelton show that adults always watched faithfully.., so of course I began to like it. This video of him explaining this statement of our Alligience to this Nation, is what I strongly Feel, and it reminds us of how the government answers to us, "we the people"....., and not the other way around. Even though this was made almost 40 years ago...., his last statement just rings with me. We will have our great America, back through strong positive faith, love and unity. Namaste

Thank you, Dar, for this wonderful video! Oh, if only we could make America true to the pledge - "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!"

Thank you for your comment, Scott. I, too, had to overcome fear to STAND for justice, just as I pledged every morning of my life as a student. If all Americans honor our pledge and work together as an indivisible, God-led force, determined to create the republic this country should be, then citizens truly would enjoy liberty and justice throughout the land.

Good post, Dar! I'm sharing this one with many. Who knew Red Skelton was so profound?

I, too, loved Red Skelton's humor and wisdom. This is truly what America COULD be about. Alas, Americans have made a mockery of our country by our apathy, greed and feelings of superiority. I agree with Scott. And when we say Bush, we really mean the hidden criminals behind his actions, for he is merely a stupid, soulless front man, as is the Queen.

Just as we gave away our power, we can get it back. The flame burns within, ignites others, until the torch lights up the skies. It is already happening. The darkness is losing its power and knows it, which is why the evil seems to be everywhere and expanding. It is not. This is merely a sign it is overcome by the light and is discharging what is left out of desparation.

There will always be criminals. It is up to us to be clean of spirit in order to keep the vampires away. We need to look within and clean house, then demand of our leaders the same. Otherwise, we will not know the difference. Discernment.

Hatred is nothing but fear and turns on us. Courage, peace and love will reverse the fear. So, embrace the darkness with courage and love, and the darkness will fade away. In order for that to happen, we ourselves must be pure in spirit and heart. Life is indeed unfolding as it should.

Thank you, Dar.

Well, I feel good cause for your rant, Scott..heh. You are advancing, as APATHY, becomes something that doesn't vibrate right with our mission. I also believe sometimes we need to get this stuff out. It's not good for the physical or the spiritual self, when we hold the harsh energies within. I know we are going to experience something very HUGE, soon. It is time for us to unite, and WE WILL take back our birthrights, our freedoms, and our nation. Thank you Scott.

Carolyn...., I agree. I also believe they need to rewrite every book in our educational institutions, with Truth. Thank you hun!

Mary.., I never knew this side of him neither. You are welcome, and Thank you for sharing it.

Marion...you are very welcome..., and I applaud your reply..Thank you.

noted, One Nation indivisible????? So what's up with rolling over for the NAFTA, and SPP?????? Where is your "inalienable" rights now???? Oh right, you are allowing the government to run YOU instead of YOU running the government, allowing it and it's snake head military leader. The Native Americans had a saying and description for lies,"speaking with forked tongue" leaves me the image of Bush/Cheney. Forked tongue.

Thank you for posting this. R.I.P. Red. Never a more genuine American patriot.

I actually have a large American flag with only 48 stars on it. I'm not sure how old it is. When my family lived in Virginia in the early 70's, we found it in the attic of this old house we lived in.

The Native Americans have many sayings, especially within each tribal union. Faith, Hope, and Love..., and the greatest is Love. Very Cool. Each human-being must make a choice to be pro-active with positive energy. Those who choose the Darkness over the Light, do have that choice, but it will be the unification of the people that choose the Light within them..., that will be of the New Earth.

Well guys. After Scott said it all, I have nothing left to say. Red was one of the most patriotic gentlemen of his time and of ours. I'm old and he was my parents favorite and became my favorite. He was a wonderful human being and am glad he didn't live to see what the hell we have come to in this day and age.. thanks Scott and RIP Red, never ever forgotten

Is this a sick joke? Freedom? Ask South America. Ask the Dominican Republic. Ask Jamaica. Ask Vietnam. Ask any country that is under the heel of American capitalism. My allegiance is to the human race - not to any flag. One day the people of this world will be free to enjoy a decent living I hope. But I won't hold my breath. Nationalism is an evil. Remember Germany of the thirties. The USA and the UK are coming to resemble it. Fear of government. It's happening.

Very good point Eleanor, and no this isn't a joke. It seems many nations look to America to lead with the examples of Freedom, Hope, Faith, and to Prosper. There are multiple reasons that other nations look to America to lead, no matter if it's a good or bad reason. We all have our own nation's Government with some similar branches as the U.S. with the Judicial, Legislative, and Executice branches. The people must work for True change with their separate governments. In my opinion, "Nationalism" shouldn't be the pathway of a strong civilization. Any separating of the people by any type of means, weakens the the Power of One Earth. However, if each nation of people and languages can start to pull to "Oneness", as each human-being needs to do within themselves, first..., by finding their own Truth within...Working from the micro level to the macro level of then uniting the Heartbeats of all Nations on Earth, humanity will prevail against the dark alliance that exists.

As far as Red Skelton's comment about the Pledge of Allegiance, he got it wrong. No one is accusing the Pledge of Allegiance of being a prayer.

It has always been accused as being government promotion of a specific religious view: the belief in monotheism.

History: Back in 1954, there was a concerted effort on the part of various overtly sectarian organizations, primarily the Knights of Columbus, to exploit Cold War paranoia and use McCarthyism to get "under God" inserted in the Pledge in order to push the country in a theocratic direction. A threatened Congress jumped right on board. Ironically, if anyone had indeed been serious about emphasizing what has, from the time of our Founding, made America unique among nations, then Congress would have changed the Pledge to say, "one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all - regardless of belief".

The Constitution: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." When Congress does exactly that, as it did in 1954 with the sectarian bill that added "under God" to the Pledge and the national motto to money, it is nothing more than strict interpretation of the Constitution that says the courts must then declare it void. That is their job description. Nothing activist about it. No personal belief involved. On the contrary, if Congress paid more attention to the Constitution (as should the people who elect the members), judges wouldn't have the nearly workload in rulings over unconstitutional laws and practices.

The whole point of the Pledge is national unity and allegiance. Any division along religious lines makes a joke of it.

Better to leave the Pledge neutral about religion, in support of the harmonious pluralism this country has always stood for, don't you think?

Let's remember, these are just little kids. Is it right to want to put them on the front lines of the culture war? Do we really need to be pounding into them the divisions in our society rather than enforcing the commonalities, the brotherhood?

Hi F.., I am sorry this concept is far too above your attainment, at this time, because you have brought some emotional luggage to this understanding, it is completely the opposite of the INTENT, in this post. It is a shame that our civilization is so predictable, is my take on it. I am tired of the words God, Allah, or whatever one sees the Divine Source to be...., as something people argue over, and claim violence, in the name of....Many have said the Pledge in school, and many of those same children have become an inspiration to Mankind, in their lifetime. In addition, this is Red Skelton, and no dramatics are necessary..lol.

Hi Dar, I actually love the concept of pledging allegance to the flag. I just wonder why the rest of your rights have been buried and stomped on by this and past administrations and is still being allowed. Take Texas for instance, today they will kill a mentally challenged man, who as a young man, thinking he was with friends, was involved under the Law of Parties wilst his so-called friend did an armed robbery, that person has gone to his "reward" and today it is poor Mr.Neal's turn. All he ever wanted was to be included. He was used, and the prosecution knew it but will/have killed him anyway. If there is a G*d the court involved will be called to answer.Consider this if you will, Texas owns the President and all he stands for and all he has done. Now you, all American citizens under the precedence that the Governor and himself has set by this execution, turn it on HIM!!The whole of Texas can now arrest the President and ALL who have voted for war and all death, as recipiantes of the LAW OF PARTIES. Sentence them to the same fate, as they are lower than Mr.Neal could ever be.

Black T., again I will state, this wasn't intended for political debate over ALL our rights. I am so pathetically trapped in the illusion that someone has taken all my rights away. In my opinion, if the government has taken ALL our rights away, THE PEOPLE has some part of that blame. We the PEOPLE, create Change..., not governments, that the people keep expecting them too. The markets respond to Demand and Supply. The supply wouldn't be there, if not for the Demand from the consumers..., the people. We can go on all day with these issues.

Point is...., I don't have to stop watching the sunrise, just because a horrible darkness lingers over our Nation. In addition, you sort of make my point..., there are much BIGGER concerns than if the word "God" is used in the Pledge of Allegance.
