I recently found out about this chemical, they also use it in plastics, it's not a good idea to use plastic water bottles because they contain bisphenol...and I have been boycotting Nestle for their pressured marketing of baby milk in 3rd world countries.
Thanks Michael for this important article.

I bought a couple stainless steel water containers and I give them out to friends and family who don't have one.

Hmmmph......
The FDA can't find the source of
The Killer Tomatoes, and now they're
once again asleep at the wheel with
the bisphenol A.
Exactly what are we paying these Federal
Nimrods to do, now?
Thanks, Mike!

Plastic industry transparent stance!:

UPDATE:
Industry Talk: Plastic Industry Stance on Bisphenol A

\"Data supports the safety of those products,\" said Dr. Steve Hentges, spokesman for the American Plastics Council. \"The science in bisphenol A has been reviewed very carefully by government and scientific bodies around the world, and in every case, those reviews support the conclusion that bisphenol A is not a risk to human health.\"

Officials from the top beverage companies, Coca-Cola and Pepsi, confirm that a small amount of bisphenol a is used in the linings of their beverage cans. They claim that scientific data has demonstrated the safety of bisphenol A for this use and that consumers are not at risk of exposure to BPA through canned beverages.

Bisphenol A is a toxic chemical found in many hard, clear plastic bottles (including baby bottles), and the linings of some tin cans. As a suspected hormone disruptor, bisphenol A exposure to children is especially risky, even at low doses! This chemical is so pervasive that a U.S. study found that 95% of people tested had been exposed to it.

Given the associated health risks of bisphenol A, Environmental Defence is calling on the federal government to ban the chemical in all food and beverage containers. Take a moment to sign our petition calling for the ban.

If you have children attending a daycare centre, you can help Environmental Defence to get daycare centres to go bisphenol A free. Everything you need to know to help get bisphenol A out of your daycare centre is on the Toxic Nation web site.
Thx Micheal!

wow that is scary!! going back to nature and the old ways is best. i had a water wise distiller and we started to feel bad, my husband and i back pain and me gastritis, they said it was not acidic water though i told them i read distilled water can take on acidity from the air. i wonder if it was the plastic. my yongest uses a sigg bottle or a kid glass, those sippy cups are prob bad too! when he goes to daycare i send in all his needs as he has special diet. his old school used to use those plastic throw away cups i never would think they could be bad!

if corporations want to help the 3rd world for real they would teach them to drill wells, and make the soil useable, or have wal mark and k mark build factories there and pay them a good wage like a dollar a day. o wait they already do that last thing.

BPA is in most plastics, that's why it is better to avoid them altogether and to drink from glass or stainless steel bottles and to not store food in them either, and especially not to reheat food in plastics in the microwaves as the chemicals are leeched onto the food by heat.

Boycott Nestle!

I wonder how many cancers in children have been caused by this?and as to what the FDA is doing- they are to busy dancing to the song of drug company money and passing laws on herbs and natural remadies to do anything else!
