Vegan KFC?

Business  (tags: diet, food, KFC, consumers, Canada )

Fake meat, unchicken, a mock chicken product will now be offered at KFC's Canadian outposts. That's right: America's favorite source for buckets of finger-lickin' good will now come with a vegan option up north.

nasty enough YET?!
Eeeeewwwwwwww!
I've tasted "mock chicken products",
some are better than others, but I
can't imagine KFC doing one and getting
it right.

No thanks for me too, it's hard to get the picture of tortured chickens out of my mind, and just don't trust them soy or no soy.

Thats a great step.

BUT it doesnt make up for the chickens who still get slaughtered by the trillions due to the existance of this company.
But I wont complain as much. I am glad they are making it more mainstream. I think the US will follow shortly, and using Canadas KFC as a test to see how well it will do. (The cautious investors)
McDonald and BK both have done the vegetarian option. But You still cant eat it!
They use MSG seasoning...they cook it with the same grease, their fries have beef stock in them.
KFC is going to cook this fake chkn in the same oil, and those employees who make minimun wage arnt going to care.
I hope PETA worked out the details.

KFC changing is merely a statement to promote the mainstream vegetarian, and to avoid the bad publicity on the Yum Food Brands.

I think that KFC has been in damage control mode for quite some time over the horrible treatment of chickens.

This will help repair their image with some but many, like yourself and I, will look at their past and wonder if this would have been done without their animal cruelty practices being spotlighted.

The fast food industry as a whole has made various attempts over the last 20 years to make their products more healthy.

I think the best option is to avoid fast food if you can. They will never go completely 100% healthy because it's simply not cost effective for them to do so.
