Stop Hunting Critically Endangered Orangutans in Indonesia - Via Force Change

Animals  (tags: ionAnimals, Orangutans, Sumatra Island, Indonesia, Endangered Species, Animal Cruelty, Death, Extinction, Sadness, Ethics, Petition to sign )

While the main threat that Sumatran orangutans in Indonesia face is habitat loss, hunting is threatening the loss of this critically endangered species. Urge the Sumatran government to stop and punish the killing of this severely decimated population.

Signed, more has to be done for these beautiful Orangutans, some of the cruelty they go through is beyond words and breaks my heart how people can do this, and to take what habitant they have left has to stop. and all the poachers if they get caught need tough penalty's, Jail is too good!! they are fed in Jails plus roof over there heads no bills to pay, we do not need people like this in this world bring back the hanging it is the only way to put a stop to this.

The palm oil factories in Indonesia & Sumatra have already killed 50,000 orangatangs & were told to do it any way they can. I saw a picture of an orangatang burned to death!! It's taken over two years and nothing has been done. We need to boycott anything with palm oil in it!!

Orang means "man" in Indonesian. Orangutan means man of the forest. What I don't understand is why Indonesians keep killing and abusing the animals on their islands. Palm forest deforestation for palm oil, the main ingredient in countless foods, is part of what's also killing orangutans. Read your labels and shun everything with palm oil in it. Please. It's very hard to do because it's in everything.

I sincerely hope the people begin to listen .......but how does one change culture........Perhaps by providing work in some other way and or place..........or introducing some other type of food. We all are able to identify the problems......but also we must offer solutions.........

This country is of Muslim religion,i don't usually bring this up but i am sorry to say that i have come to the conclusion that most Muslim countries do not give a damn about the native wildlife.Look at the zoo's (although i make an exception for London zoo and their late nights which are disgusting) .The other fact is that all Muslim countries are procreating humans at a truly alarming rate. This naturally, slowly but surely leaves no room for flora or fauna. The people of these countries are always crying poverty but a little self control regarding their sexual habits would not go amiss.Birth control is the only way to save what is left but i fear it would fall on deaf ears.BOYCOTT all products with palm oil and let us all start lobbying governments to put restrictions on their use in food, cosmetics, and whatever else they are slipped into.In the meanwhile the Indonesian government should hand out harsher sentences, but i should think that most people involved are probably family members or relations.
