The EU-wide ban on using saw stalls, a cruel confinement system causing suffering to millions of pregnant sows, is to become effective as from Jan. 1st, 2013. Petition the agriculture ministers of those Member States unprepared for the ban to amend it now

Thank you!
Thank you for contacting Europe’s Agriculture Ministers to support Project Pig. The more people that stand up for the 2013 EU ban on sow stalls, the closer pigs are to a better life.

"Sow stalls are now banned in the EU – sows must be kept in groups after the first four weeks of pregnancy until the last week of pregnancy... The countries we believe may be in breach of the ban are Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and the Netherlands."

Thank you Sylvie!

I apologize for the confusion over the link (to everybody).

To Juan G.:

Juan, I am sorry to hear that you cannot take action on this, but I cannot help it.

You seem not to have read the comments, I am afraid. Firstly, the link does not work, because of technical problems, which is why I posted the right one on the comment board (you can try using the SECOND one that I posted). Secondly, if you click on http://www.ciwf.org.uk/what_we_do/pigs/take_action/default.aspx (I have tried the other links with the same result), you will discover that (while the page displays) there is no petition by CIWF to sign on the page ANY LONGER. After all, I submitted this a month ago. Yet, the core (info) remains, and as sow stalls do not represent not a problem that would go overnight, there will be another petition to be sure.

The latest news of January the 1st, from CIWF, can be found here: http://www.ciwf.org.uk/news/pig_farming/happy_new_year_sows.aspx?utm_campaign=pig This I posted nearly two weeks ago, which you can see here http://www.care2.com/news/member/274253690/3510395, at which point it was still possible to find and sign the petition on the site.
