Vatican: It’s OK to Believe in Aliens

"Writing in the Vatican newspaper, the astronomer, Father Gabriel Funes, said intelligent beings created by God could exist in outer space. Father Funes, director of the Vatican Observatory near Rome, is a respected scientist who collaborates with universities around the world. The search for forms of extraterrestrial life, he says, does not contradict belief in God. The official Vatican newspaper headlines his article ‘Aliens Are My Brother’.” [BBC News Rome].
This statement by an accredited Vatican source appears to be one in a series of public positions on Extraterrestrial life by Catholic Church insiders. Monsignor Corrado Balducci became an out spoken advocate the ET hypothesis when he stated several times in the media that extraterrestrial contact is a real phenomenon. There is also information that in the 1950’s Pope Pius XII founded the Vatican Intelligence Agency named “S.I.V.” code for “Servizio Informazioni del Vaticano” to follow the Extraterrestrial issue and obtain information on how ETs may be interacting with the American government.
In the context of France and the UK having released their UFO files to the public and their plans to reveal more about sighting reports, the Vatican now becomes yet another player in the arena of international states that seek more clarification on the Extraterrestrial matter. This is also evidence that the heretofore tight restrictions by government intelligent agencies on UFO discourse, particularly in the United States, are beginning to crumble. This collapse of secrecy and the disclosure momentum caused by states like the powerful Vatican that seek open dialogue about the ET issue should be a serious sign to the media that the truth embargo is wearing thinner than ever and that it must be investigated forthwith with vigour.
Mainstream media must bring to an end the random and reactionary reporting of authentic international exploration of the ET issue by genuine and reliable nation states. Mainstream media must begin to ardently press the American government, the United Nations and other reluctant countries to engage a mature discussion about the monumental data and evidence is saying about an Extraterrestrial presence.

'Free from sin'
Just as there are multiple forms of life on earth, so there could exist intelligent beings in outer space created by God. And some aliens could even be free from original sin, he speculates.
Asked about the Catholic Church's condemnation four centuries ago of the Italian astronomer and physicist, Galileo, Father Funes diplomatically says mistakes were made, but it is time to turn the page and look towards the future.
Science and religion need each other, and many astronomers believe in God, he assures readers.
To strengthen its scientific credentials, the Vatican is organising a conference next year to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of the author of the Origin of Species, Charles Darwin.

I don't know Donna, they might give us nibbles, but..., this is where we need for all the "truth out" groups to focus their work and websites on more, of course in a loving and welcoming way. It is time for the biggest lie to mankind to be uncovered, and I really don't care "how" they do it, just do it in a positive way. This is ridiculous to be still teaching our children and college students the old paradigm ways, that is not "truth."

Thanks Donna - this is such great news. There's also been alot in my local news regarding sightings over Hampshire(where I live). I've had two sightings and heard them about four times (the hum and 'music' of the crafts). I've had a number of visits and believe I've been abducted once; it was the most bizarre experience - I could hear a very deep, gentle male voice saying "Come with me, come with me..." over and over again. It felt as though I was being hypnotised - first my energy was drained from my body, so I had to lie down. It was then I heard the voice. I thought I'd just dozed off for 5 minutes, but woke up about four hours later.
I have no recollection of what happened in that time, and for a moment did not know where I was when I awoke. I wish I knew more.

Blessings Dar, Kathleen, Francesca. Yes, a little tid bit here and there. They know they can't hide it much longer so they may as well tell the truth. Please sign the petition to the UN. I understand France has also made a disclosure as has Mexico. It would be great if the US made a disclosure but we really GIVE them too much power. If every other country in the world made a disclosure how stupid is the US going to look and how long can they continue to lie. Justice will be done in time.
I am so jealous there are so many sighting in the UK now. I have had a couple of astral experiences and seen them in the far distance. I am sure that it will become more prevelant as we approach 2012. The important thing is that people are not afraid and the more news like this the better. Nice of the Papa to allow me to believe, lol...

I agree Donna, I think this is the real beginning of more people talking about their experiences and information being revealed. I have always felt there will be a 'mass' sighting of UFO's around 2012, across the world - so many people will witness it that we can no longer ignore the fact that their is extraterristrial life in the universe.

There are other ligitmate groups that welcome personal stories, too. I haven't had the time to submit my experiences. I lived very near the Ohio/Indiana state line in the '70s -- a hotbed of activity then. We had a small farm & its all very flat land, so we had an enormous view of the sky. So true Francesca. I am frankly quite surprised at this from the Papa. It is interesting that he mentions Maritians--I wonder if they know something they are beginning to prepare the boxed in minds for... Thanks for the links Kathleen. I was not able to open anything on the first site. Interesting that the person on the 2nd one says they come from Mars... What's up with that? Not sure what song you mean but we sure are stardust that's pretty much a proven scientific fact.

I did sign the petition, and I forwarded this story when I noted it. I really feel humanity needs to wake-up to the "core" of "truth" in life on this planet. I had to giggle at your comment Donna, it seems the UK does have more activity. Life from other planets can't be denied by mankind, when there are thousands and thousands of documented "personal experiences" that include people of all classes and scholars, form all over the world. This is the biggest cover-up I have found in my lifetime, and I have stumbled upon a few....
It is nothing to Fear, but to seek truth and knowledge from, while we gain our birthright back for humanity, and start to remember "who" we really are..., and that is NOT being enslaved to a "man-made system." I hope more start to see that, LOVE is the key, to balance the Light and Dark, and bring harmony to Chaos, which is what has taken over humanity on this 3D Earth. WALTHAM Forest has been regarded as a magnet for UFOs and alien abductions for many years.
But now the release of secret reports by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has revealed a case which has never been publicised before.
A startled policeman saw an object with six to 12 large white orbs and red and green lights on either side as he was driving through Epping Forest in October 1984.
It made no sound and was moving very slowly towards Chingford, he said.

The officer, who had served for 20 years, was so shocked that he got out of his car to have a closer look before passing on the report to the RAF, which in turn contacted the MoD.
The RAF was sceptical of the claims, saying that because there was a strong wind from the west that day, it looked like it was an aircraft approaching Heathrow.
Many hundreds of similar accounts were made public for the first time when they were released by the National Archives this week.
UFO specialist Roy Lake said: "The MoD should have released the files a lot earlier. I have seen strange lights flying over Pole Hill in Chingford several times."
There have been many sightings of UFOs throughout Waltham Forest over the years.
In 1993 a huge disk-shaped object was seen hovering above an infant school in Leyton. A woman who saw it said it was white and looked as if it was hot metall, and wobbling like liquid metal.
Cigar-shaped objects, some allegedly emitting bright flashing lights, were reported several times in 1997 over Walthamstow High Street and nearby Blackhorse Road.
In 1998, a boomerang-shaped object was seen in the skies above Walthamstow.
The observer told website ufoinfo.com the object was glowing orange and was so high in the sky it could only be seen by binoculars.
It was stationary for a while before speeding off at great speed.
That same year Walthamstow resident Tony Colbourne set up the Essex and London UFO Network.
He reported that on October 11 he saw a golden orb travelling north-easterly, and a few minutes later two white orbs moving north. The next night, he spotted the golden orb again and another white orb, which he claimed expanded before imploding.
In March 1998, Priory Court resident Dean Holt reported seeing two white light-emitting rays across the Walthamstow skyline.
And in 2004, a PR firm called The Fish Can Sing rated Walthamstow as fifth in a list of 40 towns nationwide considered hot spots for alien abductions.

United Nations DECADE OF CONTACT Resolution
The General Assembly,
Reaffirming United Nations General Assembly decision 33/426, 1978, approved 18 December 1978, provides: "2. The General Assembly invites interested Member States to take appropriate steps to coordinate on a national level scientific research and investigation into extraterrestrial life, including unidentified flying objects, and to inform the Secretary-General of the observations, research and evaluation of such activities."
Recognizing that From 1963-1967, Hon. Paul Hellyer was Minister of National Defence of Canada in the cabinet of Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson, who won a Nobel Peace Prize. On September 25, 2005, at the Toronto Exopolitics Symposium held at Convocation Hall, University of Toronto, former Minister of National Defence Hellyer stated: "UFOs, are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head," and "I'm so concerned about what the consequences might be of starting an intergalactic war, that I just think I had to say something."
Recognizing that Mr. Hellyer stated the people of Earth may be threatened with the consequences of war in outer space: "The United States military are preparing weapons which could be used against the aliens, and they could get us into an intergalactic war without us ever having any warning."Â Former Minister of Defence Hellyer went on to state: "The time has come to lift the veil of secrecy, and let the truth emerge, so there can be a real and informed debate, about one of the most important problems facing our planet today." Â
Recognizing that the Hon. Paul Hellyer stated at University of Toronto: "To turn us in the direction of re-unification with the rest of creation Alfred Lambremont Webre is proposing a 'Decade of Contact' - an 'era of openess, public hearings, public funded research, and education about extraterrestrial reality.' That could just be the antidotge the world needs to end its greed-driven, power-centered madness."
Recognizing the common interest of all mankind in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes,
Reaffirming the will of all States that the exploration and use of outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, shall be for peaceful purposes and shall be carried out for the benefit and in the interest of all countries, irrespective of their degree of economic or scientific development,
Reaffirming also the provisions of articles III and IV of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, (1)
Recalling the obligation of all States to observe the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations regarding the use or threat of use of force in their international relations, including in their space activities,
Reaffirming paragraph 80 of the Final Document of the Tenth Special Session of the General Assembly,(2) in which it is stated that in order to prevent an arms race in outer space, further measures should be taken and appropriate international negotiations held in accordance with the spirit of the Treaty,
Recalling its previous resolutions on this issue, and taking note of the proposals submitted to the General Assembly at its tenth special session and at its regular sessions, and of the recommendations made to the competent organs of the United Nations and to the Conference on Disarmament,
Recognizing that prevention of an arms race in outer space would avert a grave danger for international peace and security,
Emphasizing the paramount importance of strict compliance with existing arms limitation and disarmament agreements relevant to outer space, including bilateral agreements, and with the existing legal regime concerning the use of outer space,
Considering that wide participation in the legal regime applicable to outer space could contribute to enhancing its effectiveness,
Noting that the Ad Hoc Committee on the Prevention of an Arms Race in Outer Space, taking into account its previous efforts since its establishment in 1985 and seeking to enhance its functioning in qualitative terms, continued the examination and identification of various issues, existing agreements and existing proposals, as well as future initiatives relevant to the prevention of an arms race in outer space,(3) and that this contributed to a better understanding of a number of problems and to a clearer perception of the various positions,
Noting also that there were no objections in principle in the Conference on Disarmament to the re-establishment of the Ad Hoc Committee, subject to reexamination of the mandate contained in the decision of the Conference on
Disarmament of 13 February 1992,(4)
Emphasizing the mutually complementary nature of bilateral and multilateral efforts in the field of preventing an arms race in outer space, and hoping that concrete results will emerge from those efforts as soon as possible,
Convinced that further measures should be examined in the search for effective and verifiable bilateral and multilateral agreements in order to prevent an arms race in outer space, including the weaponization of outer space,
Stressing that the growing use of outer space increases the need for greater transparency and better information on the part of the international community,
Recalling, in this context, its previous resolutions, in particular resolutions 45/55 B of 4 December 1990, 47/51 of 9 December 1992 and 48/74 A of
16 December 1993, in which, inter alia, it reaffirmed the importance of confidence-building measures as a means conducive to ensuring the attainment of the objective of the prevention of an arms race in outer space,
Conscious of the benefits of confidence- and security-building measures in the military field, Recognizing that negotiations for the conclusion of an international agreement or agreements to prevent an arms race in outer space remain a priority task of the Ad Hoc Committee and
