The Moral Vulnerability of Markets

Business  (tags: )

Today, there seems to be no coherent alternative to capitalism, yet antimarket feelings are alive and well, expressed for example in the moralistic backlash against globalization.

Good story, Lana, thanks for posting. I like the idea of restricting advertising. If it wasn't full of ads for stuff I don't need or want, I might even consider watching some of the garbage on TV once in a while.

Well, maybe I wouldn't go that far, but it's still a good idea. :)

Anyone who looks at Latin America these days, especially Cuba and Venezuela, will see that there are definitely coherent alternatives to capitalism. And what's more, those alternatives are more rational, democratic, egalitarian, and compassionate than capitalism!

However, you probably won't see this if you get your information about Latin America, politics and economics from the capitalist media. On the other hand, if you get your information from the non-capitalist media istead, then you will probably already know about Latin America, people's globalisation and genuine socialism (democratic socialism).
