Locals and tourists in the Israeli town of Kiryat Yam have been flocking to the coast in hopes of glimpsing a creature that most people believe only exist in fairy tales.

Hardly surprising in an area that has a reputation bigger than LSD and which is millenia old for the most bizarre hallucinations.
People have not only claimed to have seen god but to have had conversations with him. There may be something in the water all right, but I doubt that it's mermaids.
