As of late, it is unclear whether or not Jayda will pull through. Her condition is critical but she is being provided extensive medical treatment at the Methuen branch of the MSPCA.

A court date has not yet been set for Raisa Reyes. When set, updates will be made.

Good Lord! I hope she pulls through and finds a loving home. The owner must be prosecuted.

Sorry I got to this late Dianne...Im playing a bit of catch up...I must admit the more I read of this story the more rage I felt toward this disgusting individual who would do such terrible things to these two angels. This individual is in need of mental help and needs to be locked away for she is not a stable person.

i'm outraged reading about this horrific abuse case. that crazy owner seems intent on starving the dogs, why on earth did she even bother keeping the dogs? she should be prosecuted to the max and her kids taken away, they will not learn good values and respect for animals and nature, from living with such a sick person at home.

When are we going to get smart and start executing these psychopaths? Psychopaths abuse animals today and kill people tomorrow!

It sounds like Raisa Reyes doesn't have custody of her kids -- for their sake, I hope she doesn't. She's clearly missing the ability to take care of any living thing.

How those poor dogs suffered! but thank goodness someone finally reported a problem, or Jayda would be dead, too.

Noted - may God forgive me, but I cannot even pray for monsters like this - I would so much rather have them in front of me to bash the living daylights out of them. They do not deserve to live.

That POS should be starved too!

Take her kids away from her and the court should put her on an animal abuse national registry -- and bar her from ever having animals again. Disgusting. This is what many people think of animals....mere disposable "things". That's the never ending battle rescuers face.

Person[s] responsible for this horrendous act should be prosecuted and jailed! Personally I would prefer more instant justice - a bullet to the head for them!
