The two-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois was stabilized and operated on early Saturday morning at the Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Trauma Center. Zeke was reported to have had significant tissue trauma caused by the bullet wound.UP-DATE ON MY STORY

The Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Center is covering all of Zeke's medical bills, and according to abc27.com will be accepting donations for animals who need emergency surgery and their owners are not able to afford the care. Called the "Animal Emergency Fund," donations can be sent to:

Zeke is expected to be released on Monday and will be on medical leave for a month. He is expected to make a full recovery.
