The illegal shooting of birds of prey and other protected species in the Maltese islands has peaked this autumn, prompting renewed calls from BirdLife Malta and the RSPB for tougher action to be taken by the Maltese authorities against the illegal hunters

Absolutely appalling! These hunters MUST be properly punished, laws for the punishment of animal cruelty are still in the dark ages and should be updated immediately - and not just on Malta. I certainly wouldn't visit Malta, nor support it's economy in any way, until these "hunters" disgusting abuse of the law is punished properly.
