They never look healthy or happy in zoos. I shouldn't say that because I do not go to zoos. But, from all the pictures I see of elephants in zoos, they are not happy. Watch your back people, they may turn on you, and with good reason!

I'm not a fan of elephants in zoos. That said, I'm glad to read that they're making effort to give them a more natural habitat. The elephants in my local, and very small zoo, live in a space not much larger than my back yard. It's pitiful.
