RUSSIAN NEWS AGENCY Ria Novosti claims Sochi has dropped plans to exterminate all its strays ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics. Fingers crossed this is true, but let's keep up the pressure to show them the world is watching.

I hope they aren't just saying this to get animal rights activists off their backs and proceed quietly with killing. I doubt it. This is promising, great news!

With their hatred of strays I doubt this is true. Let's hope they are not telling us what we want to hear. Keep you fingers crossed for the strays.

Thank you Desanka for letting us know. Maybe some who go to the Olympics will adopt a pet before they go home.
