Spain has vowed to derive 40 percent of its electric power from renewable energy sources by 2020, and already has renewable systems in place that produce around 25 percent of their energy. Spain gets 3 Euros back for every Euro spent on incentives

Super News! It shows it can be done - and triple the money back for the investment incentives given.

Bravo Spain!

It is worth noting that all of this wind and other renewable technology is due to the previous Socialist government. The current Conservative (PP) government wants to cut back on this, but they are the same ones that are doing everything wrong to turn the economic crisis around. People are in the streets daily here and with good reason.

Wind ans Solar are great alternative, but until they device to keep flocks of birds from getting chopped up, or fried in flight, I am not for it. One more thing, if you happen to live in the vicinity of any of these wind farms, don't expect to get any sleep. Whooss! Whooss! Whooss! and that is the sound of only one! not to mention the vibration that travels through the stand into the ground. Whooss! Whooss! Whooss!
Go Spain!

That's pretty cool! I think solar- and rain-power are more sustainable than wind, but wind is still inifitely better than any form of petroleum-based power! Go Spain!
