A a major undercover investigation in China by One Voice suggests that dogs being killed for meat are increasingly likely to be onetime pets or strays supplied piecemeal from various sources-indeed, some of these tragic animals are still wearing collars.

"a 2004 survey partfunded by One Voice shows that more than threequarters of Chinese people want a law to protect animals. Unless the wider world gives voice to their concern, dogs in China will continue to be callously brutalised in their millions: help us voice that concern by supporting our online petition and writing to the Chinese Embassy in your country."

I'm very sick and tired of hearing about evil people like China hurting animals. Imagine the animals all got together in heaven and turn on the people that hurt them. Animals are smart.

I do not buy anything from China....this was posted to my petitions group two weeks ago.....got a few people that responded, but no one seemed to care. If they did sign or send emails, I would not know. I for one care...I work my tail off day in and day out, trying to make a difference, not just here in the US but for all. I do not understand why anyone would not sign this petition....or want to help save innocent victims from the torture. Someone once told me that animals are used because they have no soul....think again people...those that use animals in this way have no heart...and trust me, have no soul. Thank you Daphne

dead embryos were being used as dietary supplements started to spread early last year with reports that some doctors in Shenzhen hospitals were eating dead fetuses after carrying out abortions. The doctors allegedly defended their actions by saying the embryos were good for their skin and general health.

A trend was set and soon reports circulated that doctors in the city were promoting fetuses as a human tonic. Hospital cleaning women were seen fighting each other to take the treasured human remains home. Last month, reporters from EastWeek - a sister publication of Eastern Express - went to Shenzhen to see if the rumors could be substantiated. On March 7, a reporter entered the state-run Shenzhen Heath Center for Women and Children feigning illness and asked a female doctor for a fetus. The doctor said the department was out of stock but to come again.

The next day the reporter returned at lunch time. The doctor eventually emerged from the operating theatre holding a fist size glass bottle stuffed with thumbsized fetuses.

She said: "There are 10 fetuses here, all aborted this morning. You can take them. We are a state hospital and don't charge anything.

"Normally, we doctors take them home to eat - all free. Since you don't look well, you can take them."

Not every state hospital is as generous with its dead embryos as the Health Center for Women and Children. At the Shenzhen People's Hospital, for example, the reporter was in for a surprise.

When a Ms. Yang, the head nurse, was asked for fetuses, she looked anxious and asked other staff to leave. After closing the door, she asked the undercover buyer in a low voice: "Where did you (get to) know that we sell fetuses?"

The reporter answered: "A doctor friend in Hong Kong told me."

"Who? What is his/her name?"
The reporter was not prepared for this line of questioning and could not come up with a name. Yang told him that fetuses were only for sale within the hospital, and were not for public purchase. She added that some staff would, however, sell the fetuses on to Hong Kong buyers.

The reporter learned that the going rate for a fetus was $10 but when the merchandise was in short supply, the price could go up to $20. But these prices are pin money compared to those set by private clinics, which are said to make a fortune selling fetuses. One chap on Bong Men Lao Street charges $300 for one fetus. The person in charge of the clinic is a man in his 60's. When he saw the ailing reporter, he offered to take an order for fetuses that had reached full-term and which, it is claimed, contain the best healing properties. When a female doctor named Yang - no relation - of Sin Hua clinic was asked whether fetuses were edible, she said emphatically: "Of course they are. They are even better than placentas.

"They can make your skin smoother, your body stronger and are good for kidneys. When I was in an army hospital in Jiangti province, I often brought fetuses home. They were pink, like little mice, with hands and feet. Normally, I buy some pork to make soup (with the fetuses added). I know they are human beings, and (eating them) feels disgusting. But at that time, it was already very popular."

A Mr. Cheng from Hong Kong claims he has been eating fetus soup for more than six months. To begin, the man, in his 40's, would make the trip to Shenzhen frequently for business and was introduced to fetuses by friends. He says he met a number of professors and doctors in government hospitals who helped him buy the fetuses. "At first, I felt uncomfortable, but doctors said the substances in fetuses could help cure my asthma. I started taking them and gradually, the asthma disappeared," Cheng said.

Now, Cheng only eats fetuses occasionally to top up his treatment, but there was a time when he made regular cross border trips with the gruesome merchandise. "Everytime [I made the trip], I carried a Thermos flask to Shenzhen and brought the fetuses back to Hong Kong to make soup. If they gave me 20 or 30 at a time, I put them in the refrigerator. I didn't have the soup every day - it depended on the supply.

"Usually, I washed the fetuses clean, and added ginger, orange peel and pork to make soup. After taking it for a while, I felt a lot better and my asthma disappeared. I used to take placenta, but it was not so helpful." When asked if he was concerned about the fetuses containing diseases, Cheng was dismissive. "I bought them from government hospitals. They would check the pregnant women before doing the operations and only sell them to me if there was no problem. Also, I always boil them over high heat which kills any bacteria." Although Cheng has overcome any squeamishness over eating fetus soup, he says he draw the line at consuming whole dead embryos. He also refrains from telling people of his grisly dietary habits.

Zou Qin, 32, a woman from Hubei with the fine skin of a someone several years younger, attributes her well preserved looks to a diet of fetuses. As a doctor at the Lun Hu Clinic, Zou has carried out abortions on several hundred patients. She believes fetuses are highly nutritious and claims to have eaten more than 100 in the past six months. She pulls out a fetus specimen before a reporter and explains the selection criteria. "People normally prefer (fetuses of) young women, and even better, the first baby and a male." She adds: "They are wasted if we don't eat them. The women who receive abortions here don't want the fetuses. Also, the fetuses are already dead [when we eat them]. We don't carry out abortions just to eat the fetuses.

"Before, my sister's children were very weak. I heard that fetuses were good for your health and started taking some to my nephews," Zou says, without remorse. "I wash them with clear water until they look transparent white and then stew them. Making soup is best." But she admits there are drawbacks to this dubious delicacy. "Fetuses are very smelly and not everybody can take the stink," she said. "You can also make meat cakes by mixing fetuses with minced meat but you have to add more ginger and chives to get rid of the smell."

Hong Kong legislator Dr. Tan Siu-tong is surprised that it could be within anyone's capability to overcome the stench of a dead fetus, even if their stomachs are lined with lead. "When all the placental tissue is dead, the smell is awful and is enough to make you feel sick. It is like having a dead mouse in the house," he said.

The fetuses allegedly eaten by the Chinese are all provided by China's extensive abortion services. Last year, doctors in the People's Hospital - the biggest hospital in Shenzhen - carried out more than 7,000 terminations, 509 on Hong Kong women. The Hong Kong Family Planning Association (FPA) estimates that 24 per cent of all abortions on Hong Kong women are performed in the dubious surroundings of a Chinese hospital. A Ms. Li from Hong Kong has had two abortions in Shenzhen but has never heard of people eating fetuses. "But I didn't want the babies, so after the abortions, I just left them with the hospital," she says. "I didn't want to look at them, and I certainly didn't want to keep them. Fetuses of two or three months are just water and blood when they come out. They are so small, how can you eat them?"

Doctors in the territory have responded with disgust and incredulity to stories of people supplementing their diets with fetuses. Many have read articles of fetal cannibalism but none has been able to verify the reports. They are treating the issue with skepticism. Dr. Margaret Kwan, a gynecologist who until two weeks ago held the post of chief executive at the FPA, says: "This is the strangest thing I have ever heard coming out of China. I just hope it is not true."

Dr. Warren Lee, president of the Hong Kong Nutrition Association, is aware of the unsavory rumors. "Eating fetuses is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine and is deeply founded in Chinese folklore. In terms of nutrition, a fetus would be a good source of protein and fats, and there are minerals in bone. But I don't know if eating fetuses is just folklore or more than that," he says. According to Lee, it is conceivable that fetuses are rich in certain hormones that are beneficial to the adult human body, but should this be the case, the fetal matter would have to be converted into an indictable form for best results, as most hormones including the hormone for diabetes, insulin - are broken down in the digestive system before they have a chance to be absorbed by the body.

But Lee suggests that anyone who eats a fetus would be seeking a remedy that is far more elusive than a hormone or mineral. "Some people may think there is also an unidentified substance or chemical that has healing powers, but there is no evidence that this is true." Lee urges people to be wary - "There are people out there who just want to make money and they will come up with all sorts of formulas or substances, which, they say will cure diseases."

As a child, Patrick Yau was fed on human placentas by his mother who worked at a local hospital, but in his current position as a psychologist with the Social Welfare Department he is both repulsed and shocked by the notion of eating fetuses. "As a Catholic, I object to abortions because I believe the fetus is a human life, and I certainly object to eating a dead baby after it has been aborted," he says. Yau concedes that in China, where the one child policy has turned abortions into an acceptable remedy to an unfortunate human blunder, people may have adopted a new outlook on life before birth, such that embryos are stripped of their status as human beings.

But Tang fails to understand how anyone anywhere can convince themselves "that they are just eating an organism when they are actually eating a dead body". "It may not be a formed human being, but when they think about it most people would think: 'Ugh! No, I can't eat that.' I don't think civilized people with an education could do that sort of thing."

Dr. Wong, a Hong Kong doctor who practices Western medicine, thinks only the ignorant would eat human fetuses. He explains that fetuses contain mucoploysaccharide, which is beneficial to the metabolism, but states that it can be found in a lot of other food - Chinese doctor Chu Ho-Ting agrees that there is no place for fetuses in medicine, and suggests that it might even be unhealthy if the pregnant woman was infected by disease.

"Most bacteria can be killed under 100 degree heat but some require 400 degrees. Some people believe eating fetuses can strengthen the immunity of the human body against diseases, but this is wrong. Although fetuses contain protein, they are not as nutritious as placenta, which contains different kinds of nutrients. But even placenta has to be taken with other Chinese herbs."

The Seven Sorrows of China by Mark Miravalle Softcover Read about the horrible suffering caused by the cruel regime policy of one child only - and the abomination of fetal soup! "In the most difficult periods of the recent history of the Catholic Church in China, the lay faithful, both as individuals and families and as members of spiritual and apostolic movements, have shown total fidelity to the Gospel, even paying a personal price for their faithfulness to Christ" - Pope Benedict XVI Mark Miravalle's intense experiences as he travels through modern China provide a realistic picture of life outside of Beijing. He vividly recalls his recent trip traveling through China detailing the daily struggles of the Catholic faithful. Dr. Miravalle's concise elegant writing style delivers a seven-image portrait of today's China. A portrait that conflicts with the commercialized images of a recently liberated country, but a portrait that remains hopeful anyway. The following is an excerpt from Part III of Dr. Miravalle's book, entitled The Third Sorrow: Abortion Without Conscience: The Indoctrination of a Nation: "The most alarming," he writes, "the most depressing, the most Copernican revelation of all that I have been exposed to (including the yet more grisly examples to follow), is the repeated refrain that the great majority of the people in China have lost any concept that there is anything at all wrong with having an abortion. It is considered less significant than a flu shot, a minor procedure like going to the dentist, a simple solution to a simple problem that doesn't merit any soul searching for any alternative plans. "China has become a nation who without conscience aborts their own future generations. And this is Satan's ultimate victory here. Is this conscience loss regarding the transcendent dignity and inherent right of human life to be blamed exclusively on atheistic Communism? Have not the recent influences of Western morals of secular humanism, materialism, hedonism, and ultimately unmitigated egoism, also contributed to this Chinese terrorism of the womb? In any case, the combination amounts to self-inflicted Chinese genocide, which so saddens the God that creates and loves the ethnical uniqueness of China. "New macabre manifestations of this conscienceless abortion mentality include the recent opening of five restaurants in the region of X, which began serving 'fetal soup' at the price of 300 Yuan (approximately $40) a bowl! Recent medical publications have praised the exceptional health benefits for the consuming of 'fetal remains' (this jargon allows them to overlook what this really is-unborn baby bodies). Therefore, local entrepreneurs jumped on the opportunity to distribute this new health breakthrough to the chosen few who could afford the price. So evil and scandalous is this fetal soup trade that the Government shut down the Web sites advertising the restaurants, in fear that they would scandalize the reputation of the People's Republic to outside countries and businesses. "Is it possible that the abortion holocaust and its rejection of life's sacred dignity has also contributed to the recent practice of 'ghost wives,' as recently reported in Chinese news sources? This is the practice of providing a woman's dead body to be buried with a deceased man so that the man will have company in the 'next life.' Distributors of the dead bodies of women found that men were willing to pay much more for a 'new' dead body of a woman, rather than one previously preserved. Murder of women from out-of-the-way places ensued to fill the new demand for the fresh ghost wives.

An Article in the Dopar ka Samna, 22 May, 2001

"Cooked Human Foetuses for $100! This is a story of what happens in Taiwan, a small country located to the east of China. Here, aborted human foetuses are eaten as food. This "dish" is so popular here that hospitals sell these aborted foetuses for between $50 to $79 a piece! This story of the consumption of foetuses is making the rounds in cyberspace, pushed by activists who wish to raise a campaign against this barbaric and inhuman custom.

On about 23 April, a Kamlesh Giri sent an email regarding this to an Anupama Rai and others, entitled "Unbelievable!", which included a picture of a Taiwanese eating such a foetus. It alleges that this "dish" is presently Taiwan's hottest dish. The email goes on to add that spices are applied to these foetuses and then they are cooked in an oven or on a barbecue and placed on a platter before being brought to the dining table. The email went on to add that the sender wished to bring this repulsive practise to the world's attention, and sought that the issue be taken up so that pressure be applied on Taiwan to end it. Mr. Giri sought that some activist should take up this issue.

On 2nd May, a Mr Krishnadev Bhattarai fowarded this mail to this correspondent, among others, with the request that it be broadcast as far as possible."

Chinese Trade in Human Foetuses for Consumption is Uncovered
By Yojana Sharma in Hong Kong and Graham Hutchings in Beijing
London Electronic Telegraph, 13 April 1995

ABORTED human foetuses intended for human consumption are being sold for as little as 1 pound in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, according to reports in Hong Kong yesterday.

The Eastern Express newspaper said journalists from its sister publication, Eastweek, had gone to Shenzhen, across the border from Hong Kong, to see if foetuses were being sold. Shenzhen hospitals carried out 7,000 terminations last year, including a number on Hong Kong women seeking cheap abortions.

At the state-run Shenzhen Health Centre for Women and Children, a female doctor was asked for a foetus. The next day, she handed the reporter a "fist-sized glass bottle stuffed with thumb-sized foetuses".

The doctor was quoted as saying: "There are 10 foetuses here, all aborted this morning. You can take them. We are a state hospital and don't charge. Normally we doctors take them home to eat - all free. Since you don't look well, you can take them."

At private clinics, aborted foetuses could be obtained for between 1 and 1.75, the newspaper said. There was no evidence, however, that foetuses were being sold in large quantities to middlemen for sale in Hong Kong.

Zou Qin, a doctor working at the Luo Hu Clinic in Shenzhen, said the foetuses were "nutritious" and claimed to have eaten 100 herself in the past six months.

She said the "best" were first-born males from young women. "We don't carry out abortions just to eat the foetuses," she said, but added that the foetuses would be "wasted if not eaten". The newspaper said the foetuses were eaten as a soup, together with pork and ginger.

A woman doctor, referred to only as Wang, from the Sin Hua Clinic, Shenzhen, was quoted as saying the foetuses were "even better than placentae" in nutritional value. "They can make your skin smoother, your body stronger and are good for kidneys," she said.

Dr Warren Lee, president of the Hong Kong Nutrition Association, said: "Eating foetuses is a traditional Chinese medicine deeply founded in folklore." However, he considered the alleged properties of foetuses little more than old-wives' tales. Others said the practice was abhorrent.

The sale and consumption of placentae is common in China Dr. Cao Shilin, of the Hospital of Chinese medicine in Shenzhen, said aborted embryos were taken to factories where they were used in the production of medicines.

She did not know if any were sold to private individuals, but said there was little medical value in embryos older than eight weeks when, in Chinese terms, they were classified as foetuses.

She had not heard of foetuses being sold in Shenzhen, but warned that eating them could be dangerous, given the strong medicines used in abortions.

A doctor in Beijing, who declined to be named, said parts of foetuses would have medical value, singling out the liver as something that could help to cure anaemia.

But hospitals in Beijing had ovens for the destruction of aborted foetuses, and she had not heard that they had been sold for individual consumption.

The sale and consumption of placentae is common in China, though frowned upon by the authorities. Only those with good connections to the medical world can obtain placentae, which cost between 2.50 and 3 each.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is regarded as particularly beneficial for a nursing mother to eat her own placenta because it improves her milk. It is usually drunk in the form of a soup.

Petition signed and mailed. Waiting for confirmation.

I no longer buy anything made in China. I just read an article in the newspaper that a few manufacturers are moving their companies out of china because of rising costs and relocating them elsewhere in the world.

TY, Daphne.

Thank you for sharing this petition.

I've signed, of course, and now I've just finished emailing off the link to everyone in my personal address book, with the hopes that those who STILL haven't got a clue may finally GET it (damnit!).

As sickening as the photos are, apparently most people are either unaware, or playing blind, so this must be shared everywhere. It's a matter of educating the masses.

Princess Y some new mothers here in Australia eat the placenta as it contains vitamins that is good for their milk so they say....as for me it is disgusting just to look at the placenta. People in Bryon Bay south of us eat it as a normal practice..not all of them but some of them. I was just as disgusted as you are when I saw it actually was happening. I opened my own daughter freezer after she had her baby and low and behold her is a placenta in the freezer...I freaked out and told her to stop being so stupid...they didn't eat it they buried it and planted a tree, which is thriving.......argggggggggggh...still makes me feel ill 3 yrs later.

The Chinese have a history of eating almost anything. In fact in the 1800s during a time of great famine, some Chinese resorted to killing their own youngest child or infant and feeding it to the remaining starving family members.

China is a country where the old and the new clash. The old China is one of tremendous hardship and cruelty. The new China is struggling to overcome the old but it is a very large country with so many people that it will take at least another generation before those changes really become the norm.

The new China is here though, and thankfully the majority of Chinese people have become concerned about the practise of eating dogs and cats and do NOT support the torture and killing of these companion animals as food. We can help them in their desire to abolish these horrific practises by writing and petitioning for new and humane laws. Additionally, there are any number of Asian dog and cat rescue groups that can and would appreciate financial support if you can afford and are willing to help.

Thank you for calling attention to this horrific practise Daphne.

Already signed, thank you,the umpteenth petition for this vile cause.
It's a bit of a yawn to see that hoary old chestnut trotted out again - "if you eat cows or chickens, etc, you're not entitled to criticise!"
First up - most of us here are vegetarians,at least,if not vegans. And most of us here, whether meat-eaters or not - DO campaign against the cruelty of the animal industries in our own country - be it the US or wherever.
And even those who do eat meat are most certainly entitled to protest against horrific sadistic practices against animals, wherever they take place.
Yes,we know what's been happening in the slaughterhouses there- and that's the diference - in China there would not be the outcry there is in the US - simply because it wouldn't even have been news - simply the normal, accepted way it's done - they wouldn't have batted an eyelid!
And hopefully, when people see before their eyes the sheer brutality of animal slaughter, some will realise that as long as they eat meat, the horror will continue, and so decide to stop,or at least cut down,on eating meat etc.

My blood is boiling over this....Let's hope the time China has to pay for its actions will come very soon.

Just disgusting beyond words can describe. This has to be shared with everyone, everywhere. People need to know!!! I'm thinking of placing petitions on things like this in the veterinarian and animal hospitals around my home town here. Places where people frequent because of their loving pets , it might help. Also, we should boycott China. They need to get the message that we Americans actually respect animals (life in general) & that dogs & catsw are part of our families, we don't eat them. It's a sick crime that needs to be stopped. Thanks Daphne for posting & sharing this important issue. Let's spread the word.

Well, now that I'm finished crying...How can any human being commit such a heartless atrocity?!! Can't they see that those dogs are living, feeling creatures with the capacity to feel pain and fear, and the ability to love and be loved? All animals deserve respect and gentleness, but domesticated dogs going through this is even more painful because of their intelligence level. Domesticated dogs can see and understand what is going on in these disgusting situations. I feel for them. This MUST CHANGE!!! These atrocities should never occur!!!

I have been boycotting anything from China for a couple of years now. They DO NOT DESERVE the honor of hosting the Olympics. I won't even watch them broadcast from China. And I have to agree with several people here: the same old argument of cows, chickens, pets or not, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH is just plain ignorant. As Daphne said, eat whatever you like, just don't torture it. But China will never get the message. They are ignorant of human rights, civil liberties in all aspects, manufacturing of toys with lead in them, and animal rights. They are simply a BARBARIC PEOPLE. Of course, there are wonderful people from China, as is the case all around the world, but the culture is sick and doesn't care for its people or animals. And I don't think America is any better for its factory farming, slaughter of horses, puppy mills, etc. and I would fight against that to! And I am a vegetarian.

It's heartbreaking...I will never understand this chinese "culture". Whenever I read or see about the way animals (especially dogs and cats) are treated in China, I wish all of the chinese dead...After finding out there are chinese people suffering as I do because of these horrors, I just want myself dead, so not to see and feel anything like this anymore. Till the animal welfare laws are implemented and enforced in China, they should be refused the onor of hosting the Olympics and any other favor. The civil rights are crushed here, the animals are tortured, the pet owners were recently forced to give up their animals because being bigger than 35 cm, or for being more than one!!! Just read about eating "featuses"...it's sickening.

This devastated me, I couldn't help but cry. It was made even more personal by the fact that the tan-colored dog shown licking its blood - looks exactly like my dog Oesh Kish. They could have been litter mates. Adding insult to injury is the way the dogs are killed. Their deaths are painful and cruel.

I have two friends who were born in mainland China. They're both surgeons, and both are ethical vegans. They are just as outraged as the rest of us, so please be careful not to generalize. People don't choose where they're born, or what color they are, and most people don't have the kind of money to "get out." Charles and Ming-Li were fortunate to start new lives in the U.S., but that's not the norm. They still have family in China, and none of those dear people would support something so horrific.

ANYWAY, and trust me on this: both of them, and I, deeply, DEEPLY care that these atrocities are still going on in China, and we are all ashamed and aghast -- and VOCAL about our feelings.

So keep on spreading around the word about this petition, and please tell anyone you have a conversation with about the government of China's barbaric treatment towards our voiceless friends, and yes, encourage people to boycott the Olympics, and SAY SOMETHING ABOUT IT TO SOMEONE ELSE!

I'm loving seeing how many people DO care, but we've got a bloody long way to go. DON'T GIVE UP, friends!

Now it seems you may have addressed this already but i literally cannot read these tiny words and need a bit of dedicated feedback-i can compose a letter[in Chinese?no.]but I haven't ever written his honourableness Guy there.
Could you give me a guideline roughly or direct me to a link that may help?
I'd also like to point out that I hope i don't have to read all these comments to be confident enough to say to friends of mine that they have better than a 'Chinaman's Chance' that there aren't really any people here who hate all 'Celestials' not doing their laundry. I didnt mean that to sound nasty-I felt terrible to read someone's above plea not to hate an entire race of people for this. Geez, one of my dearest is directly from the big red place..but she also don't eat dog...my american pals don't breed or bait pitbulls either, however.
[my 2 best friends always hate my choice in bofriends though]

I am so disappointed and sickened by human behavior.
This just tortures the soul.

The United States has the biggest out sourcing of industry to China unfortunately. Because they can get their products made cheaper, pay cheaper labor. Does it surprise anyone that they are thriving right now while we are failing?

what an ego

fyi he is an American who lives in germany and has 2 residents one in Trier Germany and one in Philadelphia
his profile is not fake

daphne you call for the bombing of a nation and its people and this idea is wrong and you make no recant just continue on with caps stating and from what i see you are not alone in your xenophobic terrorist attitude

are you aware of the vegetarians that live in China or the animals

do you care about the people who are Chinese who you cause pain by your hate

no you dont your own words

thats okay

someone may report you and not to care2
in these times your words could cause you not to be able to travel ,cause you to be removed from animal rights groups have you investigated and those linked to you as well .
its not a good time for people to support violence even in a rant

and thats what he was trying to get across to you .

it does the animal rights movement no good to have people promoting violence

finally before you decide to block me as well

that would be two people at least that you have removed from your cause to stop animal cruelty . we are both animal right activist and we will not be replaced with violent ideas

thank you Matthias F

This is my problem with you DAPHNE D. you hate and spew your hate and then make it out as if you are the victim in all of this. Boycotting China's Olympics is a Boycott on our country and many others who we support. Last I knew the American natives ate dog on a regular. Daphne,

Friend, just ignore them. I learn many years ago that people that call others racist rarely know who they are talking to. Native Americans eatting dogs. Perhaps they are mistaken. Hunting with the wolves side by side yes. Rumors.
I was a called racist against Asians years ago. Little do they realize that I have Asian in my family. The niece which I spoke of in the earlier post is Asian. Again people sit behind their computer, not knowing who they are attacking, or insulting but do it themselves givien half the chance. But flag them, and poof....your threatend with suspension after 8 years of being a member here.
People that care about animals will always be attacked because we cannot stomach the violence, and as always...people first...everything else second, or if at all. People that have no empathy and compassion for animals....have little if any compassion for those that stand up for the voiceless. After almost 50 years on this planet....some things never change. They aren't worth the arguement. Just know that fighting for those voiceless is worth it in and of itself, and you can't change other people...only yourself. And know in your heart that what goes around comes around...eventually.....if not in the here and now....then at a later time....*S*

Wolfweeps, you hit it right on the nail!

True we have cruelty in the western world as well and we are protesting for that as well! We want cruelty to animals to stop anywhere in the world! But the Asian countries seem to definitely have the number one spot for cruelty. It may be because of their believe, that the more horrendous their death the tastier the meal?? Figure that one out. No respect for animal life or human for that matter! they are just so far behind us, as far as feelings for creatures goes, and no animal protection at all, everybody, just seems to be doing what ever they want to to an animal. Shame on you Asians. And I know there are great Asian people, that rescue animals and those I will help them, as they don't get anything from government and doing it on their own. I have today donated USD500.00 to the www.dogrescuecentre.org in Thailand, for wheelchairs.
So all of you that are so outraged by this news item, why not put your money where your mouth is and donate a little. They would be grateful and you definitely save lives.
