Out of all the cats that have 'owned' me throughout the years, I had one named Sam, that learned all kinds of 'dog tricks' from my german shepherd. Shake, fetch, roll over, sit, stay, etc., etc. He also use to watch animal planet and one day there was a show about seals on and Sam was on the floor in front of TV doing seal things, like clapping his paws like the seals do! He was trying to walk like them also. It was hilarious! His all time favorite show was Lassie. The old black and white show. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer...:( I still miss him alot.

Duh. Contrary to the majoral belief, People have been training cats for a long, long time. My cats respond quite happily to all sorts of verbal commands. You either have the Knack for picking up on your cats personality and what it'll learn, or you don't. Humans Consistantly underestimate an animals intelligence or it's ability to learn. I've got a burmese python that constantly freaks people out with his evidential intelligence, and ability to learn (not tricks or commands but I.E. how to wrap around a doorknob, turn it, push against the wall and open the door...who needs an opposable thumb?)
