The president of the European Parliament has said the Brexit deal between Britain and the EU will be vetoed if citizens' rights are not protected. It is essential that European and British citizens had the "same rights tomorrow as they have today".

Which basically means, cancel brexit, and life goes on as it is.

I hope that this is a lesson to people to NOT listen to the rhetoric and propaganda when making a decision on how to vote. There was good points on both sides, but there were MANY lies that common sense should have made it obvious to people they were being lied to. People also need to put their emotions aside as it taints the facts and blurs common sense.

Human rights need to be the core principle in government decisions--kudos to the EU for announcing intent to hold the UK to this standard. Thanks Evelyn

The can veto the conditions of Brexit, not Brexit itself, John -

The conditions are to be negotiated with the EU/EP - especially concerning the UK's status & relations post Brexit. The UK could end up with no benefits, no advantages related to the EU (while still bearing responsibilities to which they've already committed ) if the conditions they request are vetoed.

Which would add to the already considerable costs/losses of their "divorce" from the EU! Which are far more extensive than even most MP's realised ...
The cost of calling a referendum without fully grasping the implications ...
