I'd guess that the killers were people with no ethics or moral values; no sense of humanity toward ANY species- not even for the environment that sustains all Life on Earth. Their only concern is for their own welfare and pleasures. They'll do anything for a price- or for the high of 'proving' they are superior little-tin-gods. They like killing; but it must be from a safe distance, and against targets (human or animal) that have no chance of defending themselves and no chance of escape.... I'd say these murderers are cut from the same cloth as politicians who tell endless lies in order to start a needless War For Profit!!
