A little old but covers the cover ups as they were beginning as true today as will be shown sensational allegations of rampant sexual exploitation and rape of young girls and women by the U.N.'s so-called "peacekeepers" and civilian staffers in the Congo

It is a little old but is still relevant as the abuses have increased not decreased and the reminder is always important

"I am afraid there is clear evidence that acts of gross misconduct have taken place," Secretary-General Kofi Annan admitted. "This is a shameful thing for the United Nations to have to say, and I am absolutely outraged by it."

Annan isn't the only one outraged over the continued rape, torture and murder! That the UN Troops are in the Congo and other places representing the rest of the world to try and bring order and peace to these areas so that the inhabitants can live a better life are actually bringing death and despair to those people makes them worse than those who create the conflict!
I urge all who read this to sign the petitions here @Care2 to bring an end to Peacekeeper abuse and have them charged accordingly!
ha! Peacekeepers! What a lie...

Thanx Michael for sending me this info. Blessings to you and yours!

You know there really is still a chance for peace and that chance will definitely increase if we each do our piece. So let’s make peace -- in our homes, in our own hearts, in our relationships, in our communities, in all of our dealings and in the world. Peace be with us all.

THE FACES STILL BOB ABOUT WITHIN MY SIGHT LINE, THE GRUNTS AND SNEERING LAUGHTER WILL ALWAYS RING IN MY EARS. THIS HORROR WILL NEVER END UNTIL ALL MOTHERS AND FATHERS TEACH THEIR SONS THAT IT IS CRIMINAL,HURTFUL, AND CAN MENTALLY INCAPACITATE A WOMAN/GIRL/CHILD FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. I TAUGHT MY SON, YOU TEACH YOURS!!!!!

Sorry Black Tiger the implication of "old" had to do with the date of the article (2004) not the atrocities it represents. There are others who become very concerned in the dating of an article and its relevance to today's news.I apologize if it was taken as an that, the atrocities spoken of in region and number are older, that was the meaning of the comment and am sorry for the events in your life. I plan to teach mine as I was taught that atrocities regardless of whom they are against, need punishment, swiftly and immediately and that means need to be put in place to punish those who commit crimes against the voiceless.
