Mutter Museum in Philadelphia, PA. It's a museum of medical oddities. They have many exhibits of conjoined twins... It's extremely disturbing.

Wow very cool indeed. As a Human Biology major I love this stuff as it teaches and reminds us how fragile our reproduction can be ....one cell off and we are no longer what we are supposed to be ...

Hmmm. The relevance of this is?...This saddens me. These are babies. They didn't make it as far as you or I, but they WERE someone's children. Not freaks. For educational sake, this may be useful to learn about conditions, etc., but not taking the form of a dignity-removing sideshow in a museum. Could the material in the museum (and here) perhaps be presented in a more respectful & instructive manner without the use of adjectives such as "sick," "scary," "weird," or "disturbing?"

One of these pictures looks like an infant in a youtube video that is really disturbing. The one that looks like it has scales and fish like mouth? In the video the baby is actually alive suffering much pain.
I look at this way, humans are curious and the souls of the babies are no long inhabiting the bodies and no longer suffering anything. Alot of people might find this interesting just as Margaret has. :-) I think it is interesting to.

I think it is absolutely horrible to display these babies. I see nothing cool or interesting about it.

How sad. I would think that these prenatal conditions were incompatible with life.

Being a Philly native and seen this numerous times. It is science people, if they didn't have these babies to work WITH more and more babies, even today would be BORN stillborn or even worse as the above spoke on the babies they are still showing on You Tube. That is a horrible display of babies being tortured.

Boty you are right. On youtube there are so many videos of babies with deformities. I can't imagine why people would want to post videos of lives babies in pain etc.with harlequin ichthyosis disease and many other horrible face deformities. These babies in jars have contributed to science but the ones on YouTube are being exploited as freaks.
