This is a rather interesting idea. We all have to deal with so many customer service calls on various matters and it can be frustrating to sometimes end up talking to someone who, due to language difficulties, makes it hard to understand the information being given us. Especially when it's on a technical matter, such as computer software support or the like.

Of course, some of the non-English call center personnel speak truly excellent English and nearly all that I've spoken with are very pleasant and helpful. But the language difficulties are sometimes really annoying. I would be willing to pay extra to talk to someone here in the U.S. instead.

I will openly admit to refusing point blank to pay to speak to someone in my own country. I think that it is a cheap move on the behalf of Telstra. many a time, the people overseas, although 'trained" by the companies, don't have a clue what you are wanting. I have no problems with the majority of the people and their accents per se, but i do object to having all these jobs taken off shore to make the companies even more profit!
