Not sure why the authorities are not taking this Swine Flu as serious as they should...there have been 2 deaths in New York City (so far) from this contagious virus never mind how many confirmed cases there have been here in New York alone. Although they've been shutting down schools in Queens, NY, they should close all of the schools to disinfect them before allowing children to return to school! I understand the authorities don't want to cause a panic but come on they should be doing "something" to prevent the spread of Swine Flu!!!

I agree with Rosanne C, because the number is now over 300.

Mary, wow I didn't know swine flu deaths in Australia is now over-300!!! That is NOT good at all! Also, I stand corrected...there have been 4 DEATHS from Swine Flu in New York City so far. And my husband is ill in a Long Island hospital just now (not with swine flu, thank God) and there is a man in the room next to him who has swine flu whereby everyone is wearing masks when they go into that room and constantly washing their hands. So who knows if that man will live or die and he'll be another Swine Flu statistic for New York. This is definitely NOT good that all of our governments are not taking Swine Flu seriously enough.

Rosanne, the 300 + are confirmed cases, not deaths thankfully. We too have schools closed.
