They USA representatives only "agreed" to anything at all, after the Papua New Guinea rep told them basically .... " last chance, sign or go your own way", so they did. However, i am positive that when these people get back to the States, they will be looking for new jobs.

Whilst it is great that Australia, by our new Government is part to the 'Global Kyoto Climate Protection struggle- . Something we Aussies could not dear dreaming of 4 weeks ago. Yet we need action here at home ! Climate Protection is like charity, it starts at home. And, Conserving Forests, Trees will Combat Climate Change hence is a very real and most effective, meaningful Climate Protection measure. So please Australian Minister for Climate Change i.e. Protection, Sen. Penny Wong and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, stop the Gunns Pulpmill now and save 200,000 hectares of Tasmanian Native Forest, earmarked for total destruction by the proposed Gunns Pulp-Mill Project. You do know, that you have the entire Aust. and millions of Global Citizens behind you, fully supporting you to stop this Gunns project now. And, the good fortune, you do not need Mr Bush or any one else for that matter, the ball is entirely in your Governments hands. Tell the Minister for Climate Protection, Sen Penny Wong, to stop this environmental genocide right now. Conserving Forest does not only apply to the developing Nations, it also applies to Australia. So lets see that leadership here on the ground in Australia and set a good example. And please stop the deforestion on Tiwi Island too, North Australia not too far away from Indonesia - whom are pushed to stop deforestations too. Australia set a good example first it will give us all credibility and respect.

Noted: thanks Chrissy. Bush is evil and his cronies are the devil's hench(wo)men. I certainly wouldn't broadcast the fact I'm American but I was born here. The US government "demands" that China and India reduce their greenhouse gases, apparently in denial that the US (probably) produces more - at least in terms of a timeline if not in fact. Just as a note, I'm one of the Americans who has always been against that criminal Bush, and wasn't too fond of his father either, with his flip-flopping to become Reagan's running mate. The US is run by fatcat businessmen and they're never going to give up profits to help the environment. (That's not directed at all businesses of course, just the ones with the politicians in their back pockets - or those who are politicians.)

Conserving Forest does not only apply to the Developing Nations, it also applies to Australia. So let's see that leadership here on the ground in Australia and set a good example. And please stop the deforestation on Tiwi Island too, North Australia not too far away from Indonesia - whom are pushed to stop deforestations too. Australia set a good example first it will give us all credibility and respect around the globe.
One of the most significant causes of climate change also presents one of the most promising opportunities to help solve this global threat, while at the same time we can stop this mad deforestation of our own forest, as any one knows that the role of Trees/Forests in climate change are in focus around the globe and actions can be taken now, no need to wait to delay any decisions until the next steps for the U.N. Convention on Climate Change Conference and.or the Australian Prime Ministers sepecial report due in June 08. We need TREE FREE PAPER and a decision now. Ten years ago, the U.N. convention adopted the Kyoto Protocol that committed participating industrialized countries to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that trap heat in Earth’s atmosphere, causing climate change. Emissions continue to increase, however, and we face potential consequences such as more severe droughts and floods, food and water shortages, unprecedented species extinctions, and mass migrations of climate change refugees.. - what is there to wait for ??

Every one please note and get on board here, visits below Web-Link for GetUp Australia and send off you message. And separately send of a similar message to the Australian ANZ BANK, and our Aussie Minister for Climate Protection and the Prime Minister. Let them know from around the globe. We will do the same for you in return, people of this world must work together now.

CLIMATE PROTECTION IS LIKE CHARITY - IT STARTS AT HOME - and not by telling others what to do, and fund overseas actions to avoid issues in our own back yards.
Therefore, please sign here this one too, we do not only need a success in Bali, but we need most urgent actions and a success here in Australia, to stop the new deforestation plans of the newly earmarked 200,000 hectares of pristine native forest of Tasmania Australia all up for pulping.
The ANZ BANK is considering financing this AUD 1.5 Billion dollar project. Now due to public pressures, they reconsider it all. So tell the new CEO to stop the Pulpmill project, which shall be the world biggest pulp mill or better the world biggest environmental disaster.
I have signed the petition and wrote a letter too. Please help us from around the globe to get as many thousands of eMs to the ANZ Bank before next Tuesday's Annual General Meeting. We need not only thousands of voices, but for every tree one, which makes millions eM to be sent to ANZ. Also forward it to all your contacts and ask them to do the same.
Only 1 more day before the ANZ Bank AGM! Please tell Mr M Smith, the new CEO, to stop this Gunns Pulpmill in Tasmania, Australia !
If you missed that date, Tuesday 17th Dec 07, please send it off when ever you best can ! And those eM to the Aust Government, make sure they have it the latest during Jan. 2008. Prime Minister Rudd tells us, he will work during the festive season.
Please Note; on the Get-Up site is posted a generic proforma letter for Mr Smith and You can use a 'pen name' or 'alias' should you prefer to. Send also a copy to the new Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, for his information and actions < Kevin.Rudd.MP@aph.gov.au > with a Copy to the new Australian Federal Minister for Climate Change, Sen. Penny Wong < senator.wong@aph.gov.au > just to make sure they are well informed and any scope of blame games is avoided with the urging, that they, the Aust Federal Government and the ANZ Bank meet global community expectations to stop this Gunns Project and with it this mega deforestation.
We here need all the support from the global community... this is indeed a global issue too. Global Warming and Climate changes affects us all, we are all in this..... Thank you for your help. Click here and have your say and help us all- www.getup.org.au/campaign/TellMrSmith and do not forget to send a copy to the Australian Government, see above.
Future generations will appreciate this and above most mother earth and her environment.
