This is truly amazing. We used to live out west and fish and camp there regularly and this is the first time in 17 years that it has overflowed. They showed footage of most of Emerald and districts just driving over the spillway and looking at the sight ... we would have been there too! The main industry in Emerald nowadays is coal mining and they were affected being underground. Other local towns, like Sapphire and Rubyvale ... yes, named for what they mine ... had houses sinking everywhere, into the shafts that we under their "houses".

OMG I agree Chrissy...Emerald was where my husband was stationed for 18yrs of OIC, and this is really amazing that they are getting floods like this...

One of My Nieces lives out in Capella and she told me she is worried about ending up with webbed feet from walking through all the water.

I think the world is in for a lot more flooding, We're getting flooding here in Indiana also.
Glad I don't live around the river is all I can say.

Noted. Hey Chrissy, just on the news, the police have caught the bloody idiots who vandalized the leevees! The State Emergency Services have finished the repairs with a few hours to spare! God Bless them! Thanks Chrissy :)

Yes I heard it also..but on the Police radio ..hope they get a good sentence for this. Chrissy might be a good time to start a petition on this one. I can't for obvious reasons as I would shot at dawn...lol.
