I would never choose a dog over my child..regardless . I would give him away to someone without kids. This little guy will bear the scars the rest of his life,,,and he is so lucky he did not lose that eye....Wow.

The mother needs to lift her parenting skills and get off her fat a.... and protect her child and teach it how to handle animals, Child and dog should never be left alone together, Only under supervision can we teach our children, four or 2 legged ones, how to get on with each other and to respect our differences!
The size of the dog worries me though, not a good match for the boy. I am not sure of all the facts, to decide if that dog should die or not, I guess the mother would be in a better position to judge, but she is making all the wrong moves so far, so I can't trust that. I wonder how she will feel, the next time the boy annoys the dog and gets bitten more, how she will feel then. I am a dog handler, trainer, groomer, breeder, lover, but this situation could get very bad for the boy, now that the dog stepped over the limit, he will do it again, if annoyed. And little boys like that DON'T LISTEN, I know, I have 2 of them. Keep him save MOTHER. Never leave them alone, MOTHER.

Can't she find the dog a loving home elsewhere?
And if she knew the child was pulling the dog's ears,,, Why didn't she stop this?
