Sounds wonderful that the autistic kids have "someone"" to relate to with ease - that "someone" is a special dog.

Thanks Chrissy! Noted. What an amazing story of love and how dogs can sense what we cannot, and interact when we are not able to. When people talk of having a sixth sense, I always think that sixth sense is dogs. Or ESP should stand for Especially Sensative Puppies! 8o) When I was pregnant with my daughter and was suffering complications that could cause me to lose her, my doctor ordered one month bedrest for me and demanded I find a new home for my Old English Sheepdog Buffy who was very high maintenance, or lose my baby. I could not risk my unborn child, so I found the best home possible for Buffy. It was a dear friend of mine, Betty whose daughter Angel had severe Cerebral Palsy. Betty brought Angel with her to my home to meet Buffy so I took Buffy out to the car where Angel sat. Angel could not speak, walk, nor do anything more than a 6 month old child though she was 13 years old at the time. When I brought Buffy out to Angel, she reached out her badly curved arm and clutched fist to try and pat Buffy. Then she smiled. Her mother Betty burst into tears and I asked what did I do wrong? She said, "You did nothing wrong. This is the first time Angel ever smiled in her life!" I no longer felt sad about letting Buffy go to a new home, and knew I had done the right thing as Buffy changed Angel's life. Only dogs!!! 8o)
