Noted and thanks Chrissy for the article and Cheryl for the forward.

I've just adopted my first Koala! Her name is William Krystal.

On 12 January 2008, a bemused local was leaving the pub in downtown Port Macquarie when, to his astonishment, he saw a young koala standing across the road on William Street. The “walk” signal began blinking and the little koala—no more than a joey—proceeded to amble across William Street towards him.

This is not something you see every day, which goes some way towards explaining why the gentleman gathered up the little joey and cuddled her for about two hours before bringing her to us.

Fortunately neither the joey nor her human guardian were harmed (even joeys can deliver a nasty scratch or bite, if scared). Indeed, Krystal, as the joey was named, looked well, sporting a coat of healthy light grey fur. She joined another two female joeys in the “joey yard” where she will continue to grow and prepare for release when she reaches 3-4kg.

That's great Mick. I saw 'Aussie Mick' and I thought of you! I'm so glad you have adopted your 'namesake'!!! They're all so cute it was not easy to just choose one. I'm going to get my 7year old Granddaughter choose one to adopt too!

Bronwyn, William Krystal is just beautiful. $40 is a small price to pay to help with their rehabilitation. I think it's a great initiative of the hospital to do this!
