Tell Congress we can't afford to wait until mid-2010 for credit card reform! Several major banks just hiked interest rates and fees on our credit cards, turning a blind eye to the millions of Americans struggling with the collapsing economy.

Signed #10,898. Enough is enough of these legalized loan sharking theives. I only have one card to make reservations with and pay it off immediately. I will not contribute towards these theives living off of me. I think if everyone paid off all their credit cards and did the same thing it would send a message to these theives, perhaps then they'd come crawling back to everyone with much better terms. Each of us must take control, we can ask our Government to help but we can also help ourselves by not using the credit cards and paying them off.

Congress is guilty of collusion with these creit card companies. We should all pay very close attention to how (if at all) Congress will handle this situation.

I worked with my Sen. Levin on correcting these abuses. He held hearings, I watched them, and the CC Co. make 15 Billion dollars a year off the Late Fees alone (the banks shouldn't be having money problems with fees like that). Sen. Levin wrote up legislation, which he sent me a copy of. However, that legislation has been blocked by the Republicans for over a year. That is where our anger should be directed. The Rs are so busy protecting banks that we end up paying over and over on those abuses. They don't care about the American People, they gets lots of money for blocking the legislation. In the Senate, the bill cannot be brought up until the R Senator takes his hold off the Bill. That is a screwy rule in the Senate, that one Senator can put a block on a piece of Legislation and keep it blocked for years.

Signed. It is legal extortion. Chase just sent me a letter to raise my rates on one credit card to over 20%...so they can remain profitable. I promptly canceled. Let's see how profitable ZERO is...

Signed #11,029. This is one petition that everyone needs to sign whether they have a credit card or not. The abuse has gotten way out of hand and we fools are paying for it. I vow when my cards get paid off to cut them up and mail it back to them!! To the one poster with the filthy mouth who signed themselves Nobmasuxx, you don't help our cause! Clean up your act and mouth and then maybe someone will want to read what you say. Pick yourself up out of the gutter and behave like a valuable part of society.

When the United States government is no longer
of the people,
by the people
and for the people
but
a government of the corrupt,
by the corrupt
and for the corrupt,
it's tyrannical transformation into the
American Federal Empire has been completed.

Harry Reid lost me when he signed on to the bankruptcy bill; look up the highest contributor to his campaign are the credit card companies.
