On April 1, US President Obama and Russian President Medvedev will meet for the first time in London. This is an incredible opportunity for the two men who oversee 95% of the world's nuclear weapons to reverse decades of mistrust and danger.

After all the years of pleas, protests, letters, petitions and phone calls, I begin to think this is just mental masterbation. Will our world leaders ever take this seriously? The following is from 1986, and illustrates the stupid ideas people put forth to avoid ending all nukes. Star Wars - what a stupid idea - no nukes - no need for a star war that was an idea not a reality.

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND, OCT. 12 -- The summit meeting between President Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev collapsed tonight after the two leaders had tentatively agreed to sweeping reductions in nuclear arsenals but deadlocked on the crucial issue of restricting the U.S. space-based missile defense program widely known as "Star Wars."
