Since 1981 police have been allowed police to search a suspect's vehicle without a warrant. On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that, even when searching vehicles, police must abide by the 4th Amendment's ban on unreasonable searches and seizures.

Kudos to the Supreme Court. Police have no right to search our privacy!

I agree with Leigh. Our constitution is in place for a reason. Here in Texas people are being stopped, their cars gone through, their personal items are all over the side of the rode...children are standing in the heat or cold. If the police have probable cause...fine...but a family on vacation spending hours on the side of the highway instead of on their way to their planned vacation is wrong. If we lose our rights, if our constitution is ignored...we are right back where we started. There was a reason why our forefathers came to this country in the first place. Government thinking they were greater than its people.

I have a High Times (I know, don't say it - it was long ago for me) article that I keep in my glove compartment that clearly states the search laws for all states. When someone knows not their rights, they will surely be taken away without notice.
