Our government's goal is to reduce pollution by 83% by 2050. The health of the people comes before corporations or the economy. We should eliminate endless landfills, trash, and gigantic garbage patches in oceans through planning and recycling by 2020.

Dear President Obama,

Your administration recently informed me that they would reduce pollution by 83% by 2050. This is simply putting off the issue and is unacceptable. I believe we can accomplish the same goal and perhaps more by 2020 if we simply decide to and make it happen, similar to the space program in the sixties. The role of government is to protect the actual people, not corporations or the economy. The health of the people comes first. The reduction of pollution should also extend to material waste, which should be altogether eliminated through planning and recycling. The existence of endless landfills, trash, and gigantic garbage patches in oceans does not make sense, and is obviously unsustainable. Everything can and should be recycled. If we want humanity to be sustained, we must live in a sustainable way. Now is the opportunity to let outdated methods fail and construct a world that works.

This is not about words and promises, this is about concrete actions.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

I with you...as long as you don't subscribe to the idiocy that our friend Carbon dioxide is a pollutant.

That idea is being pushed by Globalists who wish to reduce us all to poverty and kill off 90% of the world's population.

"The partnership among self-interested businesses, grandstanding politicians and alarmist campaigners truly is an unholy alliance. The climate-industrial complex does not promote discussion on how to overcome this challenge in a way that will be best for everybody. We should not be surprised or impressed that those who stand to make a profit are among the loudest calling for politicians to act. Spending a fortune on global carbon regulations will benefit a few, but dearly cost everybody else."

Unable to sign as not in America However recycling is a two edged sword and I was surprised to find the recently provided recycling and refuse bins were only made from 30% recycled plastic and the local council in my patch won't take a large range of plastic and things like tetrapacks that juices come in. The cost of implementation was staggerring compared to the cheaper alternatives of having a bag for household waste and a box for the different recyclable and we now have to transport glass to the collection points by car, so that's not green and this same council has won an award for it's recycling targets in the midst of this expensive chaos. Not difficult as you get fined if you put stuff in the wrong wheelie bin in error. And I thought 1984 was a work of fiction!
