I just can't watch that kind of thing, so I had to keep fast forwarding it. I was so amazed and thrilled, I pray the baby survived his or her wounds. Lions might have to become vegans:)

I thought it was amazing. These are real wild animals that are showing the true ego system. This rare footage is going to help wild life areas, in a process of how nature survives. Lions have to eat too. I agree this is the survival of the fittist. I am not so sure that baby survived. I hope it did. No one knew the how bad the damage was. But, this gives people that are trying to save the wild animals a great oppurtunity to see how it works. This can also be an advantage to the people who study them, how to keep their ego system going. That helps us understand them more for their protection.

That was amazing. After all that little baby went through I sure hope it survived! Thought for sure once the crocodile got involved it was all over. But hey, them buffalo sure showed those lions, didn't they? Thanks Tom for sharing.

Oh dear oh dear... itīs tough when you see what really goes on!! (not that Iīve never seen a documentary or anything!!!! plenty of those!). But as Pamela says, itīs how it works, the eco chain is perfect (Iīll rephrase that... perfect until humans started f****ng everything up). Itīs a battle for which you canīt choose who youīd 'prefer' to win, itīs survival of the fittest, whichever one that is... the lions have to eat to survive too, and I just hope the baby wasnīt too damaged, otherwise they both end up losing :-(

Thanks Kathy and thanks Tom for the post. That was a spectacular video. I was happy to see that the calf made it back to the herd safely. That was one lucky little calf. Those adult Buffalo were courageous and stood their ground. Sometimes it does help to have lots of friends and relatives nearby.
