The ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has deployed a team of disaster response experts to assist the state of Louisiana in pre- and post-storm evacuation and sheltering in anticipation of Hurricane Gustav.

I find it so interesting that the Louisiana SPCA had an emergency evacuation plan all set up and ready to go before the plans for people were finalized. AND the good news - Louisiana is allowing evacuees to take their pets with them on the public transports!
