Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin saved a television crew from an attack by a Siberian tiger by shooting it with a tranquilizer gun. Putin, sensitive to a growing environmental movement in Russia, is involved in programs to save the Amur Tigers.

Outstanding! In a world of killers, Putin has a heart, I hope this has a great impact on other leaders.

Oh, but but but....he's the big, bad, scary, vicious, evil Commie right?!!! PLA-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE. I have more respect for Putin than I will ever have for the likes of Deadeye Dickeyboy Cheney.

Big Cat, Cheney wouldn't have stopped with killing that gorgeous tiger, he would have shot (accidentally on purpose of course--wink wink nudge nudge) the entire TV crew...just for s**ts n giggles.

I admire Putin for LISTENING TO HIS PEOPLE and taking an interest in saving his country's wildlife which is diametrically opposed to what our own gub'mint iiiiijits are doing to ours.

Sarah Palin would have shot it with an AK-47 from an airplane.

Excuse me for being less than enthusiastic about Putin's PR !

If only he had had the Russian army use tranquilizer guns against all the Chechens they bombed and massacred ! If only he had had the hired killers use tranquilizer guns when they came to get journalist Anna Politkovskaya, murdered for reporting on the brutality of the war in Chechnya, all the human rights violations against Chechen civilians and Russian soldiers.

I love Amur Tigers, too, but I also love democracy, freedom of the press, and dedicated journalists trying to get the truth out !

Jill, one can have respect and admiration for one's enemies and still BE enemies.

Then again, I have no respect or admiration of any kind for Bush, who incidentally, has also been responsible for 1.2 million (and counting) deaths of innocent Iraqis, untold numbers (the referees aren't very concerned about accurate counts in Afghanistan for some reason) of innocent Afghans and let's not forget the 4,154 (and counting) deaths of our military personnal who are dying for a LIE. Other than being a 'War President' Bush hasn't done much else to be 'proud' of. I guess one admire his consistancy in being arroggant! :)

Russia seem to be doing allot of good things, but, mainly get the media running them down, the Georgia incident was started by weapon profiteer's, who, should have been regulated by the UN, free markets give rise to allot of contentions. I put Russia in the love club here:-

It would appear to me Afghanistan and Iraq are bit players in a much larger conflict which has been gaining momentum under Putin. War is not only about shooting numerous people it is about setting the scene for the purposeful destruction of another society by whatever means.

Putin as Hitler and other megalomaniac rulers of which I must say some number of past Russian leaders are represented is in the process of dismantling the US and associated Western allies piece by piece.

How will it unfold?

Simply read your history. People like Putin and the others are unable to stay still for too long as it will give time for the outcomes from past actions to envelope them in the nasty process of accountability. They protect and pride themselves in keeping foes and supposedly friends continually off balance. Stalin was a perfectionist of this art.

In a one to one personal relationship this is not much of a trouble you simply tell the psychotic person to get lost. The trouble is when you are dealing with someone who controls power particularly a whole nations resources with nuclear weapon s with ambitions which stretch from north to south poles we as a human race have real problems.

I would like those who love or hate Putin to stop and think seriously about what a first strike actually means. For this is what I can see will be Putin’s gift to our children and I underline our.

Whether it be China, USA, France, Russia, England or the USA who presses the button first the reason the trigger is pulled will be of Putin’s making.
