Palin, Governor of Alaska, wrote to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor of California, asking him to veto the Ports Investment Bill, which would see a pollution tax put on container ships arriving in Californian ports.

Money raised from the tax – an estimated $400 million per year – would be reinvested in projects designed to reduce congestion and clean up California’s air.

Palin was concerned that the tax would damage Alaska’s economy as it would increase the price of goods shipped to Alaska.

Seems I read somewhere that Sarah Palin was sick and tired of outsiders telling Alaskans what to do as if they "know what's best for us." Now she is telling Californians what to do. If she has her way, soon she'll be telling all of us what's best for us. Just like George W(rongway) Bush. McCain + Palin = McPain.

We must end our dependence on oil and those horrible Republicans. We have taken the first step, we recently stopped buying SUVs and the US auto companies are hurting. Care2 members are leading the way eating vegetarian/flexitarian and using public transportation including Amtrak. Not using oil ends Republican money.

Each state has the right to do what it wants with its own money. In Los Angeles, most people get around by car (San Francisco has BART) and we need to do something about that.

If people want to pay more to improve things that is their choice, not the governor of Alaska - or vice-president.

Now Gov. Palin is telling the Gov. of CA how to run his state, I doubt if he needs any of her help. Have you heard her say ahe ia running on the Palin/McCain ticket, old John better watch his step I think she has plans for the old dude other than being his VP, she even had the nerve to call him HER running mate.

This stupid b*tch has the audacity to sit in the relatively pure air of Alaska and thinks she can tell me who lives in California WHAT AIR I CAN BREATHE!!!! So that her constituents can save some money? HMMMM my lungs or savings some money at Wal-Mart (if they have them in Alaska)? It isn't all about dollars you stupid excuse for a human being. We have worked hard in California to improve the quality of our air, more work needs to be done but some of policies are considered cutting edge and programs that other states should emulate. Stay the hell out of my state!!!! I'm not a huge fan of Arnold but I'd take him over you any day. Go crawl back into the Dark Ages--apparently the Age of Enlightenment passed you by.
