This is a plea to all who work to address issues, crises and, as in this case, unmitigated tragedies by creating petitions, a noble activity. Membership of facebook can be an option, as it is with Care2 petitions, but it is utterly counter-productive to make FB membership necessary in order to sign a petition. I know that many belong to FB for very specific reasons -- to keep in touch with family or, indeed, to further disseminate information re the issues that concern us. But there may be a misconception re how many of us do NOT belong to FB -- and see comments above -- and whose exclusion thus reduces the potential effectiveness of the petition. I do not, frankly, understand why this patently obvious point is overlooked. From this comment, it may rightly be concluded that I am one of those sick of having FB stuck in my face wherever I turn on the internet and finding myself, as here, stymied by its ubiquity.

Dear Amazing Lennox Army Family,
The recent statement released from @SaveLennox released less than 12 hours before Lennox is scheduled to be killed is sadly not a happy one. This isn’t a blog meant to go over the story from the beginning but a letter to start it from the end. As a supporter for over a year with a wonderful group of people who almost daily on twitter would say “Good Morning let’s have hope for Lennox” I write this with a heavy heavy heart and many tears in my eyes. We have stood strong and let the world know that we will NOT allow BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) I personally call it Breed profiling.
We wait and pray for an 11th hour miracle and here in the states, should we not receive that miracle I will have a candle lit at 2am EST for Lennox to find his way to the Rainbow Bridge to meet so many other dogs that have had to suffer death for being born a specific breed.
I ask you to grieve and mourn but to do so not with hatred in your heart for the people who murder him. We as an army have proven that we not only make noise but can come together as a family. This global family that we have formed is something that I am begging you on a bent knee to not allow to dissolve. As an animals rescuer that saves almost daily and a non-profit owner that only supports positive people doing positive things I need you! I, yes me personally I need you now more than ever please don’t give up hope. We can destroy this BSL ban together as an army.
I too sadly live in a county with a BSL ban and have been able to find homes for others like Lennox. WE as an army can fight our States, counties and towns to end the BSL so others like Lennox do not suffer. Lennox is our inspiration please do not allow that to change with bitterness and hatred. Lennox will go on to save thousands if we stand strong as the army he created.
I thank every single Lennox Army member for showing me that everyday when I feel like throwing in the towel and giving up that I have to continue to save and fight for the animals that cannot fight for themselves. You all have made me a stronger more positive person in my daily task of having to face abusers I may otherwise hate. We are not only an army but a family and as you know as a family we go through the good and the bad together.
This next little bit is for Lennox himself so please be patient with me.
Lennox, you are an amazing friend to a family that loved and needed you more than you could ever imagine. I am so very sorry that your last meeting with humans was one that did not allow you the gentle touch and snuggle that you so greatly deserve. You might not realize it but there are many humans that love you and never even met you. You are a warrior for other dogs that like you have had to experience this same coldness from humans.
If tomorrow morning comes and you happen to see a bridge where other dogs await you on the other side please go to them. You will once again run free and no longer be a prisoner in a cell with no love. Don’t ever forget your family and your human sister that adored you and loved your more than life. She will never ever forget you and the love you showed her. You might be wondering who I am and why I am writing this letter to you so let me tell you quickly. I am one of a huge huge army that you created to help other dogs so they don’t have to be sent to the bridge early. You have impacted my life in a positive way to show me how hard I really have to fight with your other army mates to change these laws. I love everything that you stand for and even though never got to snuggle you, in my heart I have snuggled you more than you know. When you cross the bridge your going to meet a dog named Ringo, he was my special boy. Send him a little love from me and allow him to give you a little love back from me. We also need to start a petition to remove Peter Tallack, too, (if he hasn't already been removed or resigned) who from the very beginning of this whole affair was instrumental in labeling Lennox as a dangerous breed based on a seamstress' tape measure and certain physical measurements! From what I understand, he perjured himself on the stand by giving inconsistent testimony in what he said on different occasions. Even Victoria Stilwell said he was incompetent and neither had the training nor was he fit to judge the behavior of dogs. He shouldn't be a dog handler for the BCC. "The Lennox case was flawed from the onset with witnesses for BCC lying on the stand, and international dog behaviourists deeming the dog to be not lethally dangerous despite Belfast City Council dog handler Peter Tallack upholding his claim that the dog was dangerous, despite leaked video footage showing Lennox licking and playing with the same dog warden who said she was mortally afraid of this dog. Clearly, Peter Tallack knew this but then also lied on the stand." There’s no doubt that Peter Tallack played a major role in the indictment of this innocent dog and creating this whole
mismanaged affair from the very start and instrumental in the court’s ruling against Lennox too. If he is no longer a dog handler with the BCC, then a petition for perjury charges should be brought against him too. Peter Tallack acted shamefully and unethically throughout this whole sordid situation which he was very responsible for creating!

Alexandra is surely not the only GUILTY person in this case, EVERYBODY WHO CAME NEAR LENNOX NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING AND THOSE JUST DOING THE TALKING AND JUDGING, failed on their job. They should all be replaced: replace BCC. or No good can be done for other dogs. The whole trial was A FARCE and BCC appeared unreiliable. There's lots more cleaning to do.
If they had acted humane they would have given the chance to say goodbuy, They are so not smart for feeding this anger and disrespect for trying to hide their mistakes. Lennox was THEIR MIS-TAKE, somehow they became greedy but they shall pay and money is the least.....

RIP Lennox, dear boy, you innocent baby. Shame on the BCC for their lack of compassion towards the family and Lennox. It is extremely upsetting since there were other options such as the rehoming. They certainly seemed to have it out for the Barnes family. I hope there is a full investigation of the BCC's handling of the Lennox case and I'm betting there are other cases too. There needs to be some ass whipping of the BCC - fire them all.

This idiot woman has a job where her first interest is in the welfare of the animals. This cruel woman failed and poor Lennoxhad a barren cell and no no loved ones at the dog prison. Contact Channel 4 UK and let them know a video leaked today showing Lennox to be a playful, socialized, happy well-trained dog while being evaluated by a behaviorist in the presence of dog warden Sandra Lightfoot. I posted the story on the video tonight and sent a mass mail to all the friends on my list. Copy and paste the link to the video when you sent your letter to the Channel 4 news. It's pretty damning.

We also believe that Lennox's dog warden, Alexandra Lightfoot, lied under oath, stating Lennox was the most dangerous dog she had ever met, while video tapes show Lennox licking her face and being submissive to her.
We know we can't bring Lennox back, but we do want to know what really happened in BCC and that the truth will come out.
Justice needs to be done and the truth needs to be told.
Therefor we plead you to investigate this case and bring out a news report.

For Lennox's sake, for all innocent dogs sake.

Petition signed with a few words about what I think of Alexandra professionalism and the Belfast City Council. I've already convicted one couple from vacationing in Ireland because of this, and will try to convince others. From now on, Belfast will be renamed as the City that killed an innocent dog named Lennox. Hope everyone involved loses their jobs and don't find work again. I pray God will punish them all for this cowardly act.
