How do judges like that idiot sleep at night? How do they get into positions of authority with such a low level of brain power. If that judge cannot recognise two psychopaths in court perhaps she wouldn't recognise them if she met them in a dark alley at night? They certainly won't stop now - 100 hours of community service leaves them a lot of time for their psychopathic activities.

This judge, is as responsible for what happened to puppy Doe, as these two scum bags who did the torture, of this poor Dog...This Judge had the power to make these things pay for their crimes, and they get 200 hours of Community Service? These scum bags will hurt another Animal, or worse a person, because they weren't properly punished for their crime against this poor innocent Dog...You think they won't do it again? because they certainly didn't have to face justice for what they did, this time...Shame on that Judge he failed "Doe" and every other Animal these scum will harm in the future...RIP Doe, and I can't wait until Karma catches up to these two things, and the judge who left them off scott free...Karma is a Bitch, and the Judge and the two scum bags are certainly going to face it soon...I can't wait...How is this Judge on the Bench in the first place? Terrible decision, Judge, I hope it has repercussions for you...

The insensitivity of the judge towards these two teenage MONSTERS is JUST as bad as the crimes the two boys committed. I cannot understand WHY the judge didn't give these two boys jail/prison time for the torture and murder of this poor defenseless little puppy. GOD will have HIS OWN revenge against the two boys AND the judge in due time --- HE always does --- becomes no one gets totally away with their crimes as everyone has to stand before GOD ALMIGHTY one of these days when they die. RIP POOR LITTLE PUPPY --- YOU ARE IN HEAVEN WITH GOD ALMIGHTY NOW AND NO HUMAN BEING WILL EVER HURT YOU AGAIN.

The boys are 18 and 19 years old, should have reached the age of reason, 200 hours in two years in exchange for the torture and killing of a dog, for me is nothing.
Surely if the judge was a "protector of animal rights" and perhaps even more aware of the seriousness of the crime, the penalty would certainly have been in prison for those two morons killers.

But this is the world in which we live, the weak and the voiceless are those intended to pay the highest price.

What a complete travesty of justice. I'm sorry but these two evil monsters WILL offend again and next time it might not be an innocent puppy, it may be a baby, a child or even a vulnerable adult. I sincerely hope they get their 'real' just deserts, down a dark ally, preferably with a baseball bat. These pathetic excuses for human beings actually enjoyed torturing and abusing the poor puppy so have no doubt, they WILL abuse again. I'm just so glad that they do NOT walk freely in my neighbourhood. Probably serial killers in the making.

Noted. I'm shocked. These 2 teens deserved jail time and should have gotten it. I can't believe only 200 community service in 2 years. That should've been in addition to the jail time. I feel for poor puppy Doe and am outraged that this so-called judge did not see fir to truly punish Puppy Doe's killers. I hope Karma catches up with all of them. Thanks so much, Michelle.

When are animal abusers going to get mandatory psychological therapy? We have seen too many times that animal abuse is a starting point to abusing humans. And how will community service help that poor puppy? Fines and jail time should be mandatory, too.

I can see where the judge didn't want to waste any taxpayer money on these two. I hope the community service hours entail some hard work. I also hope, as the story didn't say, that they hit the parents where it really hurts by fining them. Maybe forking some money over will make the parents pay attention.

Signed with hurt and anger in my heart. This decision was clearly wrong---these very sick individuals will unfortunately be offenders again, until they are properly dealt with---this sick cycle of mass abuse will not just disappear on it's own. Major punishment/psych evaluation/treatment must be applied!!~ So upsetting!!!~

Charlene Rush (79)
Friday November 9, 2012, 8:37 pm
As much as I would like to see them punished, really punished, I don't believe jail time would do, either of them or society, any good.
It would just harden them further.
Sometimes, I wish an island could be provided for such abusers, where they can abuse each other.
However, since this will not happen, community service is a better idea, but, for a much longer period, and it should be in areas where they must care for animals, with supervision, of course.
This would be less costly, than incarceration.

If they are not mentally disturbed, I have to wonder what monsters raised them. While, we don't institutionalize the mentally ill, communities and society as a whole, suffer.

There are many more children out there, that are sexually and/or emotionally abused, than we wish to admit. With the exception of a mental illness, there is no gene that predisposes a person to abuse.
I will repeat over and over again,
Until our justice system, catches up with this reality, nothing will change.

Esther Z (94)

Angrily noted. A sham of a sentence! These monters in the making will probably hurt more animals and eventually a human being because a judge didn't think torturing an innocent animal merrit a jail sentence!

What a miscarriage of justice was committed by this backwards judge! These two degenerates will not learn from just a slap on the wrist. This was an opportunity missed to really teach these two juvenile delinquents that animals aren't just put here for them to abuse and commit such malicious acts to! This poor little puppy died from the extreme and horrific cruelty that these two committed on him- what about his life? The judge totally overlooked that. When people commit heinous cruelty to any living being and take their life, they need to pay for their terrible crimes- which is to go jail and serve a real sentence. These horrible animal criminals should have received at least two years in jail! The innocent puppy died from all the severe cruelty that these two inflicted on him! Apparently the judge just overlooked that! This was a real opportunity missed for these two to understand what it means to be civilized, act responsibly and in a fair manner with all sentient beings. The judge apparently hasn't bothered to inform himself of all the well documented evidence showing the connection between committing vicious acts of animal cruelty and later committing crimes to people!

May be by that time, this judge will wake up! But other lives will be destroyed in the meanwhile because these two degenerate teenagers never received a sentence commensurate with the seriousness of this vicious crime! May be they will find out what it’s like to have someone show them no mercy when they are begging for their lives! I don’t have much faith that these two depraved individuals will ever go on to do anything meaningful or constructive with their lives especially since this judge missed a golden opportunity to have intervened by giving them proper punishment to bend their distorted orientation in life to one which is on the path to living and thinking like actual human beings!

Betty Kelly (4)
Friday November 9, 2012, 11:36 pm
Judge, are you willing to test the results of your sentence? They will be 20 & 21yrs old when they complete your sentence so to show your continued kindnes and faith in them I think you should arrange for them to live on your block so they can have access to you and your family.

Escaped Real Manmade law justice - these two teenage sadist may have.

However, the infallible and universal laws of Karma does not give 2 hoots about man made laws for no one at all escapes karma.

That you do unto others will come right back to you. On this note we needn't extoll any hatred for these 2 teens but rather we should pity them for no doubt they will receive the same fate as puppy Doe either in the future of this lifetime or the next!
