This is excellent, especially after reading the news today that animal research will most likely be stepping up! We so need this help for the animals, what better backing can we get than the actaul doctors?

I guess by now you all have read the articles about vivisection "most likey to increase" and that actually even more animal experiments are carried out today than a few years back.
How come? Now that alternatives are available?
A huge sector of animal experiments come from the agricultural section and their chemicals: weed killers, insecticids, growth enhancers, growth stabilizers, fertilisers, plant hormones etc...
The list is long. Only recently manure which was used by alotment gardeners for their potatoes and tomatoes prooved to be "crippling" to the plants and crop, making them to be cautional "safe" or rather unsafe for human consumption.
The weed killer resposible for it and approved as "safe, non-toxic" was tested on:
rats and mice - pregnant and not
rabbits - pregnant
guniea pigs
dogs female and male chronic indigestion

This testing was done by the state of NY at Cornell University and NOT aprooved because of groundwater contamination. They did tell Dow to more or less supply them with data, concerning effects of the ground water contamination - Now what do you think will happen?

They will test again - on animals at the DOW labs, then the new application will be submitted - these will be re-tested on animals ..... and that for the state of NY!!! - ONLY!!!!

What about the rest of the US? What about the UK? What about Europe? What about the world? Anwhere DOW will want to sell this herbicide animals will be used to re-evaluate, re-check and endorse or not a chemical compound.
So why will they suffer? For the $$$$$!

Mandatory alternatives would really take the huge profit making lab animal breeding facilities noticable down. Do you think they will do this?

I urge every one of you indvidually to make a choice! Make a choice about your life and life style. Next time when you take care of your lawn - think about how many animals have suffered and lost their lives so we can use "Round up" and fungicides and pesticides. Green does not necessarily mean "GREEN".

Please take one minute in silence and think about it. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!

I read EVERY label on EVERY product I pick up to buy...I choose only:*NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS*...if there is no confirmation on this, I put it back on the shelf! I also do lots of follow-up research on other products to confirm the use of animals(as some companies do not specify this on their labels, even though they do not test...I have found this in numerous cases...). An excellent source is the PETA website for compassionate products..check that out...the 'do and do not' lists. I have a notebook I carry in my purse with the DO and DO NOT companies, that serves as a great reference tool when I am shopping! In addition...sign...sign..sign...keep up this EXTREMELY important fight for the animals...My heart breaks to think of the desperate lives so many are living in labs...waiting to be plucked out and experimented on...gosh...the horror.....

Noted. It is so wrong when there is NO need to use animals for testing these days. Its backing from big companies as tax loop hole, staff don't want to loose their jobs. THEY DON'T CARE that poor animals suffer so badly & then loose their lives. Disgusted.
