If you are a woman you need to know that you are being discriminated by the insurance companies too!!
Please visit site and spread the word girls. Woman need to know that in the US today we are still not equals but at least our Democratic female Senators are speaking up !! This is why we need many more women in politics to help fight for our rights and hold on to the ones we still don't have such as this and many others.

"Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) provided context to the statements of her colleagues by stating:

We the women of the Senate have fought for equal pay and equal work…and now we are fighing for equal coverage. We want equal benefits for equal premiums.

===

Senator Murray made clear that while they were standing up for women, they were standing up for all Americans: "The rising cost of health insurance is hurting women and our country."

But, she continued, it is critical to fix existing disparties in health care coverage that are affecting women.

Why specifically women? Every day in this country the health insurance industry denies women access to coverage……we want to make sure that in the health care [reform effort] women get equal access to insurance.

===

"Women must shoulder the worst of the health care crisis, including outrageous discriminatory practices in care and coverage," said Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).

"But it is shocking to think," said Gillibrand:

that [unless we are proactive] in today’s America over half of the population of this country could be discriminated against in one of their most basic life’s needs.

===

All other things being equal, for example, women still pay more for health insurance coverage than men. Gillibrand cited data compiled by the National Women's Law Center showing that:

under our current system a 25 year-old woman pays up to 45 percent more for the same or identitcal coverage [than her male counterpart.] And yet, some of the most essentiservices required by women are not covered by many insurance plans ...such as childbearing, pap smears and mammograms.

Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) pointed out that:

And where women can find affordable insurance, stated Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), the "actual coverage is woefully inadequate" to their real needs.

===

In their floor statements, the Senators made clear that health reform must address discrimination in insurance costs and in access to care based on sex, especially the refusal to cover basic needs such as sexual and reproductive health care, labor and delivery care, and other essential health needs.

===

Eight women senators spoke strongly and succinctly about the disparities in access to affordable health care in the United States, each one hitting on separate but related issues. The Senators also appeared the same evening in a brief segment of Larry King Live. Though King consigned them to a couple of minutes at the end of an otherwise largely vacuous show, the Senators nonetheless made clear that the practice of denying women coverage based on the "pre-existing condition" of being a woman would no longer fly.

EIGHT SENATORS...ALL WOMEN___FOR THE RIGHTS OF EQUALITY!!!
such a real shame the male counterparts WERE NOT AT THE SIDE OF WOMEN!
such a sincere shame on the USA.
such a great shame on those NEGATING THEIR DUTIES to THE LIVES OF WOMEN!

THESE WOMEN too DESERVE A NOBEL PRIZE!
to STAND BEFORE the USA in its WRONGS AGAINST USA CITIZENS
and to DEMAND IMPROVED CONDITIONS!
THEY ARE INDEED THE VOICE OF THE FUTURE OF ALL OF EARTH: E Q U A L I T Y.

EXCELLENT.

THE SENATORS NEED TO TAKE ON... with all the USA government!!!
WITH EVERY CITIZEN OF MERIT OF INTEGRITY ACROSS THE USA...
THAT THE USA CEASE TO VIOLATE WOMEN WITH THE TERRORISM of RAPE!
that in fact the USA CEASE TO TOLERATE its heterosexual male population INSTIGATING and COMMITTING THE VIOLENT CRIME of RAPE which is TERRORISM!!!

___and that NO LONGER will the heterosexual male TERRORISTS of the USA be allowed to EXIST in their INTENT TO RAPE THE FEMALE POPULATION and or TO OTHERWISE COMMIT VIOLENCE AGAINST THE FEMALE RACE OF PEOPLE!!!

IT IS UNCONSCIABLE that the USA has claimed to have a stance "NO TOLERANCE OF TERRORISTS AND NO TOLERANCE OF TERRORISM" and yet INSTIGATES THROUGH MANY DEVICES THE heterosexual males across the USA which exist to VIOLATE the LIVES OF ESPECIALLY THE FEMALE POPULATION WITH VIOLENT CRIMES are coddled, are excused, are PROVIDED GREAT ACCOMODATION in trials and other AREAS while the VICTIMS of their CRIMES are FURTHER HARASSED IN COURTS, DURESSED BY police that ARE TARGETING WOMEN AND FEMALES ALSO... VIOLATED BY THE "SYSTEM THAT PROTECTS" the male heterosexual TERRORISTS in the USA to continue their CRIMINAL ACTS!

(the DATA is PREVALENT:
the main TERRORIST in the USA: the heterosexual male
committing the act of RAPE which is a TERRORISTIC ACT OF VIOLENCE... !
committing the act of OTHER VIOLENCE including BEATINGS... !
especially PRIMARILY TARGETING the FEMALE POPULATION!

Another report here in the NEWS recently...
a WOMAN's AGONY having BEEN ASSAULTED by heterosexual males... primarily
REFUSED
insurance opportunities in 8 states across the USA
THAT DOES NOT SPEAK OF GOOD WILL to ALL PEOPLE
DOES NOT SPEAK OF EQUALITY TO WOMEN
DOES NOT REPRESENT A PEOPLE FULL OF NO TOLERANCE FOR ABUSE OF WOMEN
it speaks LOUDLY of INCITING VIOLENCE AGAINST THE LIVES OF WOMEN
and telling WOMEN if YOU STATE YOU WERE ASSAULTED by a hetero male of USA
and YOU NEED MEDICAL CARE... SEEK MEDICAL CARE
YOU WILL BE PUNISHED FURTHER IN ATTACKS UPON YOU ... by NO Insurance!

the USA is it a creed? "STOP TERRORISM" having its "WAR ON TERRORISM"????

PEOPLE ARE WATCHING SHAKING THEIR HEADS "NO!"
When IN THE USA women, the female PEOPLE... are
the TARGEST OF TERRORISM committed PRIMARILY by heterosexual males
of the TERRORISTIC VICTIMIZATION OF RAPE IN SUFFERING VIOLENCE
of the CRIMINAL TERRORISM OF VIOLENCE in other FORMS upon them

WHERE IS THAT STANCE AGAINST TERRORISM USA??????????????????

GOOD for the SENATORS of 8... all WOMEN speaking up on one part of this CRIMINAL activit of the USA to VIOLATE THE LIVES OF WOMEN in the USA.

GREEN STARS for all PEOPLE Who INSIST EQUALITY FOR WOMEN!

and that means one for you too Tierney... at least one.

Excellent news find Tierney....follows along with the other news story of women and pre-existing conditions. For far too long we have been lead to believe we have equality, and these Insurers do not let this be well known either that mearly because you are female you are charged more.
On top of that women tend to make less money than men in the workplace, so it is a double hit for them, less wages and higher premiums. Is it any wonder so many women fall down into poverty or can never get a leg up in this society.

TIERNEY, I DO HOPE... this REACHES the TOP NEWS!
It is SIGNIFICANT that CITIZENS of the USA, Our COUNTRY... stand together, UNITED in and for EQUALITY... WHICH MUST NOT EXCLUDE WOMEN!!!

Dandelion's story, recently submitted, which I AM AWARE YOU YOURSELF DID COMMENT UPON, which I referred to in my note above... the one about the FURTHER TREACHERY PUMMELED UPON VICTIMIZED WOMEN of the TERRORISM of ABUSE by USA citizens most often heterosexual males... and that the TERRORIMS continues when, for one SHAMEFUL EXAMPLE AMONG A MULTITUDE... Women are DENIED "HEALTH CARE" and or "INSURANCE"... ! IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

PEOPLE... MUST BE ALARMED THAT WOMEN yes, THAT FEMALE POPULATION in the USA SUFFER AND ENDURE GREAT LEVELS OF VIOLENCE!!! IT IS FACT.
A FACT THAT MUST COME TO A SCREECHING HALT!
END THE TERRORISM ON WOMEN!! IN THE USA END THE TERRORISM ON WOMEN!
and END IT ALL ACROSS THE NATIONS!

as I say... I DO HOPE YOUR STORY, as Dandelion's has... reaches the top News

SEXUAL VIOLENCE
According to the National Crime Victimization Survey,
which includes crimes
that were not reported to the police,
232,960 women in the U.S.
were raped or sexually assaulted in 2006.

That's more than 600 women every day.6
Other estimates,
such as those generated by the FBI,
are much lower because they rely on data from law enforcement agencies.
A significant number of crimes
are never even reported
for reasons
that include the victim's feeling that nothing can/will be done
and the personal nature of the incident.7

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
(Intimate Partner Violence or Battering)
3 According to the
National Center for Injury Prevention and Control,
women
experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults
and rapes every year.
Less than 20 percent of battered women
sought medical treatment following an injury.5

IT IS STATED IN MANY ORGANIZATIONS THE ALARMING CONCERNS SUCH AS:
In 2007, there were 248,300 victims of sexual assault reported.
AT MINIMUM 60% of sexual assaults are not reported to the police.
LIKELY HIGHER!!!
Approximately 73% of rape victims know their assailants.
Only 6% of rapists will ever spend a day in jail.

====

RAINN: IN THE USA: http://www.rainn.org/statistics
The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network
is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization.
RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline
at 1.800.656.HOPE
and the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline at rainn.org,
and publicizes the hotline's free, confidential services;
educates the public about sexual assault;
and leads national efforts to prevent sexual assault,
improve services to victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.

???
so WHY IS THE TERRORISM OF RAPE SO THICK IN THE USA___ !
WHY IS IT ALLOWED in the USA
that the heterosexual PREDATORS on the LIVES OF WOMEN
are out there TERRORIZING WOMEN ESPECIALLY and THE FEMALE POPULATION!!!
THAT IN AND OF ITSELF IS CRIMINAL!!!

and
that the UNITS of USA government HARASS and DURESS very OFTEN
the VICTIMS OF THE HEINOUS CRIMES OF RAPE for reporting the VIOLENCE
and WANTING THE PERPETRATOR known to THE COMMUNITY.

WHERE IS THE STANCE OF THE USA AGAINST TERRORISM WHEN IT AS A NATION DOES NOT PROTECT THE FEMALE POPULATION FROM THE PREDATORY TERRORISM OF RAPE AND OTHER VIOLENCE PREDOMINANTLY COMMITTED BY the heterosexual males of the USA

I SAY Tierney... GLAD THE WOMEN that STOOD up on some issues HAVE!
that is MOST EXCELLENT
and yet ALL OF THE USA IN GOVERNMENT OWE us CITIZENS EXACTLY AS I SAID:
NO TOLERANCE OF VICTIMIZING WOMEN and or FEMALE POPULATION by Terrorism of RAPE being committed by the heterosexual males and LET us SINCERELY POINT OUT THAT IT IS STATED THUSLY FOR IT IS THE heterosexual males that are THE PRIMARY TERRORISTS OF THE USA VICTIIZING THE LIVES OF THE FEMALES as their CHOICEST TARGETS OF VIOLENCE!!!

GOOD for You Tierney to post NEWS... thank you.

Tierney: You sure don't inspire concise comments for the most part. But here's one from me -- you are an excellent reporter, your stories are ripe with meaning. This one so much so I am speechless at the great injustice down in this case.

Gillibrand, Mikulski, Boxer, they are all great senators. Landreau? Well, we appreciate her throwing us a bone in light of that she's obstinate about the public option! I just think Barbara Mikulski is so cute. I want to be a senator just like her when I grow up. :)

The GOOD news, is, also, that IN SPITE OF ALL THE DISRUPTIONS AND ATTEMPTS AT INTIMIDATION at Town Hall Meetings {which the RePUKElicans proudly called "Town HELL Meetings"!} -- in spite of all that, POLLS SHOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WERE NOT SWAYED IN THE SLIGHTEST, in their desire for Health Care Reform, and Single Payer. The Polls show the SAME numbers, approximately, both BEFORE, and AFTER the Repukelicans had done their nasty work. About 73% of us, STILL want major Health Care Reform. {We are SURPRISING the "pundits", by "coming back from the dead", as they like to put it!}

This PROVES something. It proves that the anti-Health-Care windbags and scare tacticians, are merely a TEENY-TINY MINORITY; and NOT TO BE FEARED by the Democrats or anyone else. They ONLY get what "creds" they have, by the constant fawning coverage of the bought-and-paid-for Media! In and by themselves, they are NOTHING. Their mis-led unfortunate DUPES, are really FEW and far between!
The "blue dog" Democrats, I believe, are only using the anti-Health-Care noise as an EXCUSE to lag on Health Care! since they, too, the blue dog Dems as WELL as the Repukes, are in the back pockets of the greedy parasitical Insurance Companies and their paid lobbyists and their campaign contributions.
Somebody said, brilliantly, that "The Repukes can't put on a genuine "grassroots" campaign; this is an ASTROTURF campaign!!!" Brilliant! It is financed ENTIRELY by those WEALTHY entities that have a LOT TO LOSE, profit-wise.

The other GOOD news, is, that today THE STOCK OF THE INSURANCE COMPANIES WENT DOWN; as they anticipated the coming MAJOR reforms to their pursuit of ill-gotten gains!!! Shows that we ARE winning; not "back from the dead", that "death notice" was PREMATURE. They WISH, the Repukes, the Right-wingers and the Insurance Companies, they ONLY WISH......!!!

"Both Shaheen and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MI) focused on the exclusion of women victims of domestic violence from insurance coverage because of the pre-existing condition of having been abused. “This is unbelievable," said Shaheen, "insurance companies can deny coverage to a woman for having been a victim of domestic violence."
=================================
My State, the State of Washington, by the way, has TWO Democratic women Senators.... and a Democratic woman Governor as well! That is some kind of a FIRST..... one we are very proud of, needless to say!

Did these feisty women's balls drop, did their coach say "Come on, we can do anything man! or do they just have very deep, insecure voices?

Womens lib/Men's lib is not good for men or women...We are different, and that's the way it is!. OK?

Germaine Greer has a lot to answer for, but she admits that, so what is the problem?

Healtcare definately needs reforming for every uninsured man, woman and child. Let's hope it will be SOON?

Ok, it's time everyone stops thinking with their "cojones", and then start thinking with their hearts! Unfortunately, David, I "do" believe we still need feminists (and of generations more recent than the 60's). I think it "will" take more women not just in political office but corporate offices, too....because, (and I'm not sure why), men just don't even THINK of issues that apply only to women. If you kick some of them in the head (you pick which one), they might "get it", but overall, we're still being discriminated.

I wish I could say "We've come along way, baby!"...but it's not nearly along way enough. My niece just had a baby & she's got to go back to work just 3 wks. after having her! Ridiculous! AND....she's climbing up & down steps to do laundry! She's nursing, she's shopping, and ...oh, why go over this again & again & again.

Just PLEASE believe it is time to catch women up to the same rights that men have, and ENCOURAGE the young women in their 30's & 40's who mistakenly think we don't need women's organizations for women's rights that they need to open their overly-mascara'd eyes!

Yes, in order to get to the same rung men are on, we still have LOTS of stamping our feet & pitchin' fits if we have to! I still think that, with Obama having the majority in Congress on his side, he needs to have a push in the back from that wife of his with great shoulders & arms & get some bills passed so we're still not debating this when THEIR girls become President!

Thannxxx for this greta post... wome are just as good at the men and have been know to be better multi taskers than men... Guys don't wap me over the knuckles for that one... discrimination is wrong and it seems to be a worldwide disease... we are all carved from the same tree, deserve the same respect, care just as much as our male counterparts... if they were in the same shoes as us..am sure they would feel the same..
