Stand Up for Government Policies That Protect Children and Farm Animals!-Sign Pledge!

The federal government lines the pockets of cattle and dairy farmers to boost agribusiness income--loading up our children's school lunch trays with fatty food made from surplus commodities. And this keeps slaughterhouses and factory farms in buisiness.

Thank you for signing the pledge!

Our governement policies should benefit the health of children—not the profits of agribusiness. To make a bigger impact, please ask your family and friends to sign the pledge. An even stronger voice can lead to change!

Good eating habits start at home with the parents! This pap is such a convienient way of moving even more parental resposibility from the parent to the school and the govenment. Personally I think it is time for the parents to stand up and act like responsible adults, much of the pandemic of obese, lazy, illmannered, self centered, out of control next generations is the parents fault, not the teachers, not the schools, not the government! And just when did farm animals and children become synonymous, I would hazard a guess that guess that free range children and free range food both are the result of parents more interested in promoting themsleves and their 'causes'than promoting the upbringing and wellbeing of their own children, give them what they want when they want it regardless of consequences and long term out come and put the responsibility and blame on others who are not actually responsible or accountable for bringing them in to the world or making them good citizens of the world. In all the comments before mine I see none, none! that advocate parental involement with their children or responsibility for their children, just 'cause promoting'and government bashing. You want healthier children, pull yourselves out of yourselves, grow up, be parents and start being responsible, teach your children by your own example and your own personal involvment with your children and quit making others the responsible adults. YOU EXECISED YOUR RIGHT TO HAVE CHILDREN NOW LIVE UP TO THE RESPONSIBILITY! Or shut the hell up about how it is the fault of every one but you. Schoolboards have meetings, the PTA has meetings, get off your irresponsible butts organize, go, complain but most importantly to effect positive change you have a plan to offer viable concrete alternatives that can be implemented and make a difference for your children, the children of your friends, neighbors and people you do not know. The petition leaves the power and the solution in the hands of the bureaucarts most of whom you elect or are appointed by those you elect, the solution is actually yours as the power is actually yours but you do have to assume the responsibility that comes with the right to vote and exercise it to your benefit and the benefit of your children, all children. Nothing is ever free particularly rights, the price is the resonsiblity to use them for the benefit of everyone.

LLoyd I understand and agree with much of what you are saying. Yea it absolutely is the parents responsibility for raising their children properly and to set down rules that must be held to. This is about a problem with big agriculture and the Government allowing unhealthy and excessive food in the name of money. Something that we have no control over unless we as grown adults take a stand and fight back in any way we can. The best would be to just boycott everthing but who can affored to do that. This is about big Corporations running this country! Who else is going to stop them from railroading us the consumer and our children? We are all not billionaires. In this world that is all that talks Money! Capitolism has created this monster. We must fight back or our chidren will be consumed themselves.

I will work with my people getting the message out.

I have long suspected the meat industry was subsidized. For example, a garden burger costs about the same price as a hamburger, even though the hamburger took many times the fossil fuel and other resources to produce.

Tierney, good point. Question to readers - are you influenced by money?

Thank you for some material to work with.
