Each year, pythons and hundreds of millions of other non-native wild animals are imported into the U.S. with no good way of screening out species that can harm native ecosystems or threaten human health.

Invasive species are always a grave danger to the natural plants and animals in an established environment. Thank Tierney, you know how I hate this issue and the damage it is doing to frogs.

Oh Gorilly Girl if you were President for a day or a week those stupid nastiy humans wouldn't stand a chance of being nasty again! Don't people ever think that turtle or tiny snake will grow into a huge adult the same as cuddly little puppy dogs. Why should the animals suffer for human stupidity and ignorance! Far too much of the buy throw it away has gotten into the purchase of animals as well as everything else!

I think it's wrong to take any wild animal from one country into another. America isn't the only country who has this problem. Here in Australia it's just the other way around, where people are being caught trying to smuggle excotic wild life out of the country. This is wrong with every species. They did bring the Cane Toad into Australia and now we have to find a way to get rid of it before it poisons all the local wildlife. However I think the governments also should be sebsible in other areas, like birds and here in Australia the Yellow Crested Cockatoe. These birds are seen as a pest here whereas people abroad would give hundreds of Dollars for one bird. So instead of netting them and poisoning them like the farmers do here why not catch them and sell them legally to people who would like to have them as pets abroad? Isn't that the way in America? I wonder? I disagree where snakes and other wild life are concerned. They have no natural preditors and so can run havoc in whatever country they go. American snakes here and vice versa and the same with other animals. But birds can quite easily fly from a cage over the border, so why not export or import them legaly? That way it makes revenue for the countries in question. I don't know whether they have the Kane Toad there whether it's spelled correctly or not and other pests like rabbits which is an import by the White Man ( Here we go again!) for their sports. Today I bought a book about Australian Underwater Wilderness for $A 5 which was a steal as it's practiclly brand new. With this book I hope to find out which Star Fish was brought from NZ to Australia and so on. I would love to collect books like this from all over the world so that I get to know the Ecosystem of every country especially The United States of America as I'm getting more involved with the American Wild life and People. So if anyone is willing to help me and NOT a brand new one as I can't afford that!.
The Ecosystem in every country is very fragile where every animal is concerned, so please forgive me for rabbling on about MY country as it is now instead of YOUR country. I think it's the same for every country.
Please let me know what others think, whether they think the same as I do?
