Thanks for a very worthy petition and bringing these bills to our attention. As a resident in Arizona, I urged McCain (who is now going by John McCain III) :) to act as leaders in getting these bills passed.

Hi! I'm curious if you could tell me more about this petition? Would this allow the children to stay within their clan more? Instead of being adopted into outside communities? As an adoptee myself, losing my heritage impacted my life in a very painful way. I believe staying within your people to at least learn your culture is important in the development of sense of self. By allowing the tribes to have access to the Resources, what exactly would that make possible? Foster care assistance to support the children in their foster homes? health care? what are the specifics that the bill would make possible? Thank you.

Noted. I read the entire petition and called a staffer in a Texas congressman's office who I know regarding this question. She said that it would permit for ease of access and greater ability to place children with families of a similar heritage and provide assistance. Would suggest you contact bill's sponsor to ask your specific question and to provide your unique insight. You could impact the positioning of the bill. Thank you, Terrah for this posting.

There is a link: http://www.pennyhill.com/index.php?lastcat=6&catname=Children&viewdoc=RS22501

Best to start there and go from that point.

Jim.
