Soledad O'Brien did a great job in her interview with Mitt Romney surrogate John Sununu this morning, in the process giving us a glimpse at just how uncomfortable Romney's campaign must be now that they have to defend the Romney-Ryan plan to end Medicare

Go Soledad! The video is worth watching. Here's the rest of the article:

Sununu spent much of the interview badgering O'Brien, accusing her of being a tool of the Obama campaign, but when she fought back—with facts, not insults—the only thing Sununu could do was claim that Ryan's Medicare plan is "very different" the Romney plan.

But despite his claim, the only difference cited by Sununu wasn't actually part of the Medicare plan. He said that unlike Ryan's budget plan, Romney would repeal Medicare savings signed into law by President Obama. But those savings are actually a good thing; they lower the cost of Medicare without touching benefits. And the only reason they aren't in the Romney budget plan is that Romney's budget plan has almost no details.

So, despite Sununu's claim, there is really basically no difference between what Ryan and Romney are proposing for the future of Medicare. The fact that Sununu would nonetheless claim that the plans are "very different" tells you everything you need to know about how afraid Republicans are of defending the Romney-Ryan plan on its merits.

Part of the transcript follows. I especially appreciate the last line Soledad says. Point well-made.

SUNUNU: Soledad, stop this. All you're doing is mimicking the stuff that comes out of the White House and gets repeated on the Democratic blog boards out there. If you're going to mouth what comes out of the White House.

O'BRIEN: I'm telling you what FactCheck.com tells you. I'm telling what the CBO and CNN's independent analysis does.

SUNUNU: I have the CBO report right here.

O'BRIEN: And I'm telling you what it says. I've read it several times.

SUNUNU: Put a Obama bumper sticker on your forehead when you do this.

O'BRIEN: You know, let me tell you something, there is independent analysis that details what this is about.

SUNUNU: No, there isn't.

O'BRIEN: Yes, there is.

SUNUNU: (CROSSTALK)

O'BRIEN: Sir, let me finish. There's independent analysis, fact check.com, the CBO and CNN has already done its own independent analysis, and name calling to me and somehow acting as if by repeating a number of $716 billion that you can make that stick when that figure is being stolen from Medicare, that's not true. You can't just repeat it and make it true, sir.

so since romney is 65 I imagine he collects medicare don't you? A man worth 228 million (that we actually know about) can't afford his own health care? I guess he wants to help drain it to justify trashing it for those who CANT afford healthcare right?
