My brother had a german shepherd once who had epilepsy. His medication helped him not have them. I wish this was available then. Noted with thanks Annelies.

as with people it is always a good idea to keep an emergency list next to your phone about your pet, it should include your vets phone and address, emergency number of off hours vet and phone and address, a list of allergies your dog may be alergic to, a record of his shots and vet visits medicines he is taking all information is vital in the case of an emergency the more information you have the better chance you have of protecting your beloved pet. Treat your pet just as you would any family member they are just as important and the infomation you can give a vet in case of emergence can be vital in saving the life of your beloved baby.

My niece has a Male Dapple Daschund and it is about six yrs or older. I feel sorry for my niece and the animal because she goes through stress of watching her little dog suffer through a seizure. I was at her house one night when the dog had a seizure and she just calmed it down and put it her lap like a baby and kept patting it's back. It has had grand maul seizures and it just puts the family through it(upsets the whole family). I can only speak from a outward prespective but i feel sorry for the dog because you really can not know what they are going through if he upsets the family so.

It was very educational to read about this. I've never known any dogs or other animals with epilepsy but I'm always eager to learn about everything.
Noted with thanks!
